Check the tracking, make sure they don't show it as delivered, I have had things delivered to a street number the same as mine but on another street.
I started playing around with a beam mask to block lens flair and clean up my night time beam, ( BOTH THESE BEAMS DEADEND INTO LARGE TREES ) once I find the right tap I will make a seperate dust trap/spacial filter attachment that I can swap out for my beam expander simply by unscrewing them.
Lenses will attract smoke so it's a good idea to have an AR coated window, but if you only have 1 opening and use a dust trap you wont get any airflow and lenses stay clean much longer, I put some scotch tape over my module set screw access hole, it's not high tech but it prevents airflow, something that can allow humidity to become a hindrance as well.
I have seen some round AR coated glass windows for sale, I will buy a collection of sizes next time I find them.
My little advertised 400mw 405 I bought from o-Like years ago has a little AR window and it's waterproof, it's such a clean tight beam, a 5-10w 405nm with present beam specs would be awesome, could you imagine?
Now with a beam expander installed your primary and secondary lenses will be sealed up and protected, also your secondary flare is often soaked up in the expanders walls, however using just a G2 or 3 element alone leaves a lot to be desired with the 44's aggressive divergence, but for anything beyond desktop the 3 element works better if you are going to use just the 1 lens, and I have a dozen NUBM44's many using 3 elements in their setup with no problems, just remember to keep everything extra clean with the 44 diodes, 6 watts can burn through glass that gets contaminated with so much as finger oil.
6X CYL corrected 44 before beam masking.
My trusty 400mw 405nm hitting a large distant tree.
