My DIY Blu-Ray

Figured out a way to make the flexdrive 2 fit, needed to change my plans on how this would be assembled but seems like the new way will work, made the hole a bit bigger from the battery side and then will use wire to connect the lavadrive to the LD sorry guys no pics because i can't get my camera to focus on the flexdrive inside the tube. That's what the hand drill was all about, I drilled a hole the exact length and width of the flexdrive and it fits perfectly no play :) LOW TECH IS GOOD TECH.. if i would have done it on the lathe the hole would have come out big.

What current do you have the drive set to?

I don't even have the diode yet. And as far as the current I didn't set it yet, but I think it will be around 90ma. 11 pages and no pointer if you guys would prefer I won't post anymore until its finished.

Finished up a few more parts. Here is the Lavadrive in position

I was joking. I love to look at pictures, keep posting - it's what this site is about :)

i think so :o

spaaaaartaaaa!

btw sorry to go slightly off topic but its kinda related:

woudl it be possible to take one of those old brass telescopes that retract and use the optics to make a laser that when the thing is closed will burn and when extended make a beam/dot for pointing?

If people have thoughts ill start a new thread to not jack this one... i want to put a greenie in one...

edit never mind here we go new thread:

I don't see why not, If i was going to do it i'd take out the original optics and stick the module inside where it couldn't be seen and then make some kind of mechanism that the telescope tube would pull on the laser optics to move it to the different focus points. the travel of the tele tube would be greater than that needed to go from burning to distance on the laser module so you would need to put stops inside to stop the module at the right place and then allow the telescope tube to keep going.
