Multi-element GB (official)

Hi Mark,

I tried sending you PM, but I think it didn't get through, it doesn't appear in my "Sent Items".

I assume we won't have large Tungsten and Magnesium rods this time, maybe next GB...

Please let me know (here or in PM), the shipping cost for Israel and I'll immediately make the payment,

Thanks,
Ohad

Silly me, I didn't have that checkbox "Save copy in sent items" checked.
I just saw the thread on PMs and fixed it.

PM sent!

I still don't know about the large tungsten and magnesium rods, matter of fact, I don't know about much anything at all right now! I have not gotten a response from my seller for a long time, but I will keep trying, and give you updates as they come.

There is only one more payment I need before I can place the final order.

I am waiting on one more payment, and then I will (attempt to) place the order. If I do not get payment tomorrow for dingle's order, I will just order it anyway and sell it off to someone else.

If you want in on this GB, there is still time- but I will close it officially in 5 hours.

Seems I was a bit late, so I'll have to jump on next time or something.

I have placed the final order with my seller. Here's what I ordered (some of it's for me, some of it's for you guys)-

-150 grams of gallium (shot)

-190 grams of indium (shot), 50 grams of indium (ingot)

-10 pounds of bismuth (shot)

-3 pounds of tin (shot)

-10 troy ounces of tungsten (in 1 TO size each)

-300 grams of cadmium (three separate 100g-size solid objects, rods or balls), 2 grams of cadmium (any form except powder)

-10 grams of tantalum (clippings), 5 grams of tantalum (foil)

-5 grams of hafnium (solid form)

-10 grams of vanadium (turnings), 5 grams of vanadium (solid form)

-500 grams of manganese (electrolytic flake)

Anyway, I hope to see the elements soon!

So it looks like some of the elements are different than the original offerings? No Te or Se, but added "tant", "halfnium", "vanadium" and "manganese", is this correct?.
Sounds cool, I would like some small samples of these new elements for my elements-collection as well.

Well the Te and Se are mine, sitting in my room right now.

I put out the idea of tantalum, hafnium, vanadium, and manganese in the feeler, but I didn't get enough interest, so I decided not to include them.

Assuming that this GB goes well enough, I may decide to hold another one in the future, in which case I could include some of these others if you would like. Manganese is cheap as dirt (I'd probably ask like $0.03 per gram), but the other three would probably be between $0.50 and $1.00 per gram- they are somewhat more expensive.

Pictures to come when I get the elements! I still need a price quote from my seller though- he only responds to about half the emails I send him.

Burning magnesium is very bright and does produce UV. If you ever plan on looking at it directly at close range (like burning ribbon you are holding in your hand) some uv-blocking sunglasses are the minimum protection you should use. For anything long term welding goggles might be more suitable.

The mechanism of damage isnt exactly the same as for lasers though, it think its unlikely to get an instant retinal burn, but exposure to that much light and uv could be painful and give you cataracts in the long run.
