The most dangerous laser is the type that exists at the edge of galaxies that paint gamma rays across the next door galaxy where you happen to live. Impossible to stop that particlular type. Only moving away at light speed could provide an escape, but finding a suitable replacement might be challenging.

Yeah, I was about to say that: it's a laser in the hands of the ignorant and stupid.

Like a doofus blinding a 747 pilot with a $10 5mW greenie he got off dealextreme.com and killing all the people on board as a result. Sure it's just 5mW, but in the end it had a far more detriment effect than some Q-switched kilowatt mazer whatever frying some grad student in the back of a lab.
