Modular PHR Build

My fav host , you can check out the "100mW green" laser in my signature to get a picture of inner construction which calls out for a laser in it! :D

Yes , you can use 2x CR123 (they are called 16340 if we are talking li-ion secondaries), and you can use RKCSTR driver to power a bluray diode.

For more juice, higher power applications and longer battery life, I would like to advise you to get 18350 instead of 16340, they are a bit larger, bigger capacity and current delivery capabilities. However they still fit inside 18650 barrel so no worries there.
I'm amazed that DX does not stock some, you can find them on DinoDirect.com.

oh sweet, but i was wondering, a rkcstr driver should fit in the host right? i know a rckstr driver will work with a phr, but whether if it will fit into the host or not cause i see many people use flex drives in their flash light hosts
( first time building a laser in a flashlight host )

and finally, rather than using a heatsink, do you think i can do thermal epoxy to fill that ring with an axiz module

thanks =-]

A cheap method I've seen members use for heatsinking is good ol' metal washers. Just get washers with an inside diameter that will fit an aixiz module and an outside diameter that will fit inside your host. You could then use thermal epoxy or adhesive between the washers and the aixiz module. :)

Am I the only one who see's the diode part of the module is protruding far from the heat sink?

Your welcome. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I'll probably bring an aixiz module with me just to try some on, then keep some hanging around in different sizes to use in a pinch. Could be used for a host or labby for cheap!!!

what size washers do you guys recommend, perhaps some for sale on ebay

i cant' see any washers for sale at home depot website

I just came across silver epoxy for mending electrical connections. It's a GE product and quite expensive due the high 80-88% silver content. Works like a charm for my TEC! Yes and it is also highly conductive. I wonder if this might if this might work better.

Transene is another alternative but contains 88% Gold. :) Will be expensive, but well worth it for heatsinking.

The thermal characteristics of this epoxy make it worth exploring. As I said it works like wonders for transferring 120w of heat from my hot side of TEC. Works well.
Con. Expensive as hell.

can i just buy thermal paste and mix it with epoxy?

i think that would be cheaper solution and get more out of what i pay
