Copter is here...check back later for pics & review :san:

Sweet. I have been coming home from work for the past week thinking I am going to have a box waiting for me....but you did order before me so I guess I still have a few more days :o

^^ I paid for EMS shipping as well ~5 days from dispatch.

I did not so I guess I can add a few more days to my wait haha

On another note there was one thing troubling about my $20 3 channel. The battery life has dropped significantly. I let it sit for 10 minutes after a full flight to let the battery cool before charging but even so I have lost about half of my flight time. Actually its about the same but about half way through I lose the ability to ascend and it only has the juice to maintain a hover. Is this a common problem with these little lipos? If so I think I will buy some replacements.

Yeah, theres two types, 70mAh , and 150mAh , you can get 240mAh replacements off eBay (like i did) and that cures your problem.

Is there any weight issue with the 240mAh? Its in the front so I would think it will throw off the hover.

It seems to work ok with mine...get one and try it...only a few $ , this is one of mine

Anyway, had a test flight with the nine eagles and all i can say is WOW !

This £24.74 ($39.99) >>NINE EAGLES 9958<< Fly's as well, if not better than my £108 ($174.51) >>Align TREX100<< !!

After a little trim I had it hovering perfectly , The TREX has an LCD so you can see your "trim" but the nine eagles uses beeps that change in pitch as you + or - the trim, the build quality on the heli is more than adequate , and I have to keep reminding myself that this full 4CH 2.4Ghz kit cost less than my Syma S107 3ch "toy" . Unbelievable value.

I bought a load of spares at the same time and the whole order came to less than $90 with 5 day EMS shipping! :wtf:

I'm a poor pilot but for the sake of $39.99 , even if you completely smashed it into a wall , its NOT the end of the world.

Cant recommend this enough. I'll try and get some flight vids uploaded but its just me here ATM and I only have 2 hands.

Here are some pics...Please excuse the quality, a photographer, I am not.

Thats awesome! A video when ever possible would also be great if you decide to take one. I found that heli after quite a bit of searching and I am glad yours turned out as good as the reports I saw. I would have felt bad if you bought junk on my suggestion. Now I am just more excited for mine to finally get here. I only bought spare blades because I didnt know what other parts are likely to break. I can always just buy them as they break and play with my syma as I wait for the parts haha.

EDIT: is that battery easily removable? It looks like you could have several batteries charged and just swap them out as you go. That would be amazing and I would order 5 batteries right now if thats the case. (obviously it needs some time to cool down but not a full 30 minute charge time)

Yup it just slides in and out, the +/- wire stop it from FALLING out, I got two batterys.

I dont know how this is possible but this action has 3 of them for $2.99 shipped. Claims they are 150mAh. What do you guys think? I guess you cant really go wrong for $3.

EDIT: I ended up going with this

http://cgi.ebay.com/Turnigy-160mAh-...Accessories&hash=item3f0c5e9d5d#ht_542wt_1185

It has mixed reviews BUT from what I can tell on these helis it will never draw anything near the exaggerated 30C rating so it should not matter.

I use Hobby King's Turnigy nano-techs in my mCP X. They work very well. You should do well with the ones you ordered. Remember though, the slower you charge them, the longer they will last. You should never charge them at more than 1C for best longevity. Slower than that is better.

Got my 9958 today and I have to say.... 4 channel helis are a lot harder to fly than 3 channel haha. I think my main problem was that out of the box the trim was way off and I started outside and mild winds made it hard to determine whether it was the trim or a breeze throwing off the hover. Inside I got it to work quite a bit better BUT I still cannot get it to hover without slowly moving backwards. I trimmed it all the way forwards and it doesnt seem to make much of a difference. If I just let go with my right hand and throttle up with my left it will move backwards. Any suggestions?

Also should I be running the heli until it dies to drain the battery or do you not want to drain it all the way?

Look at the servo arms when your Heli is paired with the remote and if they are not parallel with the horizontal plane then you may need to unscrew the arms and adjust them accordingly.

I usually avoid draining any lithium battery all the way. It's also best to avoid that when said battery is attached to a Heli that is high up in the air... ;)

Ok I will check it as soon as the battery recharges.

Heres another question. The extra battery I ordered is kind of inflated and I havent even used it yet. As far as I know this is a bad sign. It still fits but has some sort of gas semi compressed inside. Anyone have a take on this?

Here are some images for comparison. The battery charging is the 150mAh that came with the heli and the battery to the left is the 160mAh turnigy that is semi inflated.

If you squeeze both batteries (just slightly) the stock one is just solid and the ordered one compresses until you can feel the lithium polymer roll inside.
