Microwave oven leak

LOL :) Cancer causes cell phones, it all makes sense now. The dialogue is actually quite enjoyable, thanks I'm not getting any sleep tonight

This is cancer.gov's fact sheet on cell phone risk...
Cell Phones and Cancer Risk - National Cancer Institute

The World Health Organization's fact sheet on cell phone dangers according to their 2012 assessment.
WHO | Electromagnetic fields and public health: mobile phones

My reason for bringing up the Schuuman resonance is that we are linked to the Earth in an intrinsic way subtle yet profound. Our own electromagnetic field resonates with the Earth. The human brain will tune to frequencies around it. The Russians were supposedly far ahead of us in this area. Scientists discovered that by altering the electromagnetic frequency of the brain, Mood and disposition could be affected. A church was busted for using such technology to put their members in an ecstatic state. This technology misused could cause riots under the right circumstances. With HAARP and other such installations who knows what could be possible. Their are numerous patents in the public domain clearly indicating the immense potential of such scalar technologies.

My point is don't be to locked into believing in what you've been indoctrinated into believing. Just as you would advise me to not be so eager to believe the media, which we know is a manipulation of the "truth" in most cases to whatever end. Big Pharma kills thousands every year, medications costing literally billions of dollars a year to develop and approve, released with side effects worse than what they are treating.

Industries that make Billions of dollars a year don't play by the same rules. $$$$

If I continue I'll go into serious tinfoil hat territory. Check out the documentary I posted, it's quite interesting...
Resonance - Beings of Frequency (documentary film) - YouTube

Sleep well my friend, may we continue tomorrow ;)

Just to be clear, I'm no MW causes cancer conspiracy theorist, I just want to sort this out.

Did some research and my iPhone 4S only has support for 2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n. It really shouldn't be getting through...

The router has 5GHz support but AFAIK there's no way to manually select the frequency.

And unfortunately I don't have a scope, not even a 50MHz one :P

Thanks for the effort Atomicrox :) As a reference, this is the microwave leak detector I used...
mw_by_stonekaiju-d63pzt7.jpg

A.W. Sperry Microcheck non contact microwave leakage detector model smw-1
  • Reads microwave radiation as low as 0.1 milliwatt/square cm.
  • non-contact detection
  • no batteries
  • Mid scale calibrated to 1 milliwatt per square centimeter
  • Microwave Frequency: 2.450MHz nominal
note: "...is a warning device only. It is not suitable for laboratory or scientific work."
from Meatball:
Wiki says that IEEE protocol 802.11 works off of the following frequencies:

2.4 GHz, 3.6 GHz and 4.9/5.0 GHz bands.

I believe additional bands were added because of the interference caused by wireless handsets and microwaves.

The faraday cage on the microwave will probably be built only for the 2.4 GHz band - and won't be as effective for the smaller wavelengths.

BTW, thank you MeatBall for posting wavelength info and explaining the difference between the differnt wavelengths and their applications. Very useful and I appreciate you posting so everyone can benefit :thanks:

...Cell towers also causing cancer...

cellular damage can occur at much lower strengths than those currently in use.

uK3la.jpg

r u Srsly wiht me rite nao? Even if that were true (and it isn't), cellular damage doesn't cause cancer. Think about it. Getting slapped or cut or suffering trauma of any kind causes cellular damage. Where is the conspiracy that spousal abuse causes cancer? For f:(ck sake, your stomach is causing cellular damage to itself ALL THE TIME. Billions if not trillions of cells are damaged each hour no matter what you do. It's natural and unavoidable.

DNA damage potentially causes cancer, and only if the cell survives to reproduce the damaged DNA. Radio waves do not have enough energy to damage DNA. This is a scientific fact.

If you're afraid of radio waves, why are you not afraid of higher energy photons? Every object in existence gives off much, MUCH higher energy photons than radio waves in the form of infrared (google black body radiation). Even IR doesn't have nearly enough energy to damage DNA, though.

I can't believe we're having this conversation. :tired:

:D LOL, I concede Sir. The laughter was pretty intense but the EYES. In a healthy human body that can repair itself, absolutely, I can find no fault with what you say and in fact agree. But, in an increasingly hostile environment people with weakened immune systems, or sensitive systems may not fair so well. Do I know? No. Am I a doctor? No. I just choose to error on the side of caution when confronted with something I don't understand which could possibly harm me, like lasers.

I just choose to error on the side of caution when confronted with something I don't understand which could possibly harm me, like lasers.

Do you understand how cake mixers work? What about computers, cars, indoor plumbing, batteries, modern medicine, or air conditioning? Where's the science that proves any of those things DON'T cause cancer? Better to be safe than sorry and live as an Amish?

Would you refuse a life-saving medication because you didn't understand it? Say it's been around for a hundred years with no evidence that it causes harm, but what if we just haven't found the proof yet?? Or would you trust the professionals?

Are you going to avoid everything that emits radio, or are you going to trust the professionals? There's quite a difference between caution and pseudoscience. Learn it - it will save your life some day. And I truly mean that. Some of the people I went to high school with have started talking about refusing medical treatment because they read scary BS stories on the net.

There is also quite a difference between lasers and radio sources. Lasers can and will harm you if you're not careful. There is proof of this, and there are well-known mechanisms for which it occurs. There is absolutely no proof that radio is carcinogenic even after it's been around for a hundred years, and there is no viable hypothesized mechanism either.

I have a super easy solution to all your worries.

Dont use microwaves, or cell phones.

Believe it or not there was a time not long ago when the world survived without microwaves, and cell phones. I know, its hard to believe, but its true.

In fact I sold my microwave in 2003 and never looked back. I can only find one good reason to use it, and that is to warm up food. That junk they sell to use in the microwave is chock full of so many chemicals that you'll die of organ failure way before the microwave radiation will kill you. They have this thing called a stove. Yes, a stove. And it can do anything a microwave can do. Often times it can do a better job because you can cook real food with it. You know, the stuff that doesnt come in a box, or can. And if you like the boxed and can stuff it can handle it too.

I do have a cell phone. I use it maybe once a month. To be honest if it wasn't free I wouldn't use it at all. See, they have these things called telephones. With these devices you can reach anyone with another telephone, or cellphone. Its an amazing device. Once again there is really only one good use of the cellphone, and thats if you are stuck in the Alaska tundra, or in the desert. And if you are stuck in such a remote place most likely they wont have reception there anyway. Yeah, I understand emergencies. But guess what, nearly everywhere you go there is a telephone nearby. Its in schools, restaurants, stores, gyms, offices, and so on. So then why pay $500-$1000 a year on a cell phone when you can make a call nearly anywhere you go? In some place they still have payphones.

All sarcasm aside, I travel a lot, know dozens of people, and have contacts up and down the east coast, and have had no issues living without a cellphone. I even tossed the GPS when it brought me through a getto part of town for a shortcut. I guess the only argument that can be used for using a microwave, and cellphone is its a time saver. But lets face it, unless your some corporate bigwig, there is plenty of time to do the things you need to do. And they dont cause cancer, they dont bother other people, and will save you big money in the end. Money you can use to take a trip, buy a RC car, 3D TV, bicycle, kayak, LASERS, even a late model car. Or pimp out your existing car. Then maybe you can finally get date.:beer:

Do you think it's possible Cy, that birds, bees, fish and whales are all electromagnetically sensitive. And do you think it could be possible, (In the realm of what science knows and understands) That increasing amounts of man-made transmissions and noise could affect the ability of these fellow travellers to navigate and function normally. Would it also be possible than, that human beings may be similarly sensitive and thus affected?

There is nothing you say that I can argue with. You are right. I would be a fool to refuse medical treatment if I could afford it and no... I'm not gonna convert ;)

Lasers and radio sources DO have an intersection point--the switching driver. Not only does it emit RF, but it does so well into VHF and even beyond! The average handheld laser poses a double threat-accidental (un)intentional retinal burns and RF-induced cancer of circular pattern affecting the palm wrapped around the host absorbing all those uW of lethal carcinogenic radio frequency leaks! Beware! Only use low noise linear drivers and shield yourself just in case.

Thank you Phenol. I was unaware that Hand helds were capable of producing such effects. Forgive my ignorance but is that why oscilloscopes are used to test for noise and what kind of shielding would be appropriate in your opinion?

:thanks:

i was (a little) sarcastic, as you can tell. The noise emitted by the driver and its cabling is too weak to cause skin burns or any physical effect on the human body, apart from bouts of RF paranoia.
you can use a high bw scope to probe different points on the driver for noise, but instruments like spectrum analyzers and measuring receivers work much better for qualitative and quantitative analysis of spectrum and power.
You don't really need to shield anything unless there is some sensitive receiving equipment nearby. For instance, one of my lm3410 drivers running at only 400mA generates around 5uV in a 1/4lambda whip some 20cm away at 440MHz and maybe 15dB more at 155MHz (100th harmonic of driver's switching freq). This is more than enough to knock out weak signals within at least a 10m radius from the driver.

Yes. In fact it might surprise you to learn most animals are sensitive to electromagnetic radiation in the ~400-700nm range provided they have intact ocular faculties. Anything lower (provided it is in high enough intensities) is perceived as heat.

increasing amounts of man-made transmissions and noise could affect the ability of these fellow travellers to navigate and function normally.

What in Rod's name are you talking about? Now you're just making shit up.

I can only find one good reason to use it, and that is to warm up food.

That's what ovens (microwave or otherwise) do. Well done, sir.

I even tossed the GPS when it brought me through a getto part of town for a shortcut.

No more. I can't take it any longer. I'm done.

Picture if you will, a man searching the internet... He comes across this, http://www.cspinet.org/nah/04_05/microwavemyths.pdf He reads it. It validates a lot of what an esteemed forum member has been saying. :shhh::yabbem:

Why are the bees dying?

Edit...

I'd rather I was thought of as a seeker than a fool. I concede to logic and I thank you Cy for helping me to see it. I do still have questions though...
