Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

umm... you are not going to get 200mW out of an IR either, even if it is a windowless IR form a 20x drive. I have an EXTREMELY special and tough diode that managed to stay stable at 245mA, and its putting out 160mW peak.

it is a windowless IR.

I want one that will support a blu-ray diode, and one that will support an IR diode (200mw), the IR diode requires between 2.1V and 2.5V and between 120ma and 152ma so it will power. Here is the data sheet for the IR: http://www.zet.biz/Laser/Data/gh0780ma2c.pdf

...

;D Spyderz20x6 ;D

The 38mA driver is meant for the low-power PS3 Blu-ray diodes, so I'll put you down for one of those.

As for the IR, what output do you want? 150mA? Let me know about that one

As for ordering (moreso a notice to everybody), please do so by sending me a PM, not by posting messages in here. If you post an order in here, it's possible it may get overlooked by me, but I do check everyone of my PMs.

I'd also suggest removing your email address; it's just inviting spam ;)

No it wont. I am willing to bet on it. If you can get your IR diode from a DVD burner to give you 200mW, or a senkat red to give you 200mW (WITHOUT TEC) then I will give you a free plug and play GB board.

Actually Senkat has new diodes
around 240mw at 400mA i heard
don't go by that though ^^ thats what i understood

I think those need TEC to keep it at that power unless the diodes have become much much better.

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver [ch8211] fits Aixiz module

I don't think they should be driven at the full 400mA though, I know Mike said he ran it for 14 hours without problems without using a TEC, but I guess it's just me as I feel safer running them at 300mA. ;D (that still gives you around 200mW)

You don't necesarily need a TEC, a heatsink is good enough.

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

The driver is available in up to 400mA, it's up to the diode to put out the power. ;D

According to here, the diode will put out about 150mW at 200mA input current. You can get up to 240mW with 400mA input.

If you want to order some, send me a PM with what you want and your email address.

*NOTE* 400mA's into a senkat diode = BIG NO NO UNLESS YOU HAVE TEC OR A MASSIVE HEATSINK!!

Yeah, sorry, I forgot to add that in.  I believe he was TEC cooling his at that power?

I don't see why not, they're larger than the Aixiz module, so they should fit.  I don't have one, though, so I can't say for sure.  You can try asking Kenom.
