Is it somewhat safe to burn with red without glasses? what about sunglasses to block out the intensity? I know that it won't protect me frmo exposure. I don't think the beam will be reflected back off of a leaf enough to cause issues.

I strongly suggest you not use sunglasses, they won't block any red light. Whats worse than that is they will dilate your pupils letting more light in and increasing the chance of a direct hit even more. Red looks dimmer, but it is just as dangerous as any other wavelength.

I suggest not burning things till you get some proper safety glasses.

Got mine a couple days ago and they all have bent pins on the diode.
and look a little banged up.

Got mine a couple days ago and they all have bent pins on the diode.

A few of mine had small bends, but nothing unusual compared to most of the other sleds I've handled.

A few of mine had bent diode pins too. One also has a random optic wedged between the diode mount and the side of the sled LOL. They might be QC rejected units or something.

Yeah the first one I opened had 3 lenses stuck to it next to diode mount. Haven't went through the rest yet but maybe I'll have more presents in them.

My sled's have arrived, all in good condition.
(And the software will not let me +rep Styropyro for it.)
