Hey guys!
I was sitting around and i noticed that if i shine my blu-ray laser at some paper that has highliter ink on it, it fluorescences :D. So i came up with a recipe for your own flourescent dye: :)

Materials:
YELLOW Highliter
Cup
Sink
Brain
Razorblade or Knife

1. Take a YELLOW highliter.
2. Open it up.
3. Take out the cotton tube with the plastic around it.
4. Cut open the plastic tube.
5. Go to your sink, and put a cup below the faucet.
6. Turn the water on (just barely) to a very small trickle.
7. Run the water on the highliter tube and squeeze it so ink comes out into the cup along with water.
8. Get out as much of the ink as possible.
9. Now you have your flourescent dye! Shine a BR laser into it, or put a black light over it. ;)

Pro Tip: Make sure it is a new highliter, if it is a old, dryed out highliter, don't even try...

Enjoy! ;)

Ive used this trick for my Halloween setup for years. Works pretty good. Its better to just fill the cup with water and drop the foamy highlighter piece into it. Let it sit for a day or so.

I've been aware of this for a long time tho.

Plus someone made a vid on youtube, I'd thought why not add it?:

Personally I use just glass with as little water as possible so it gets more concentrated. Just squeeze the hell out of it in the water.
Then I put a few drops of the concentrate in clean water and get this:

TIP!
For those who didn't know, it works with green lasers if you use a pink highlighter (doesn't work very good with BR), and you'll get a yellow beam. I haven't tried with an orange highlighter, maybe that works with both green and blu.
Or make a crazy mix. :D

If I use a few drops of the yellow/yellow-green dye and allot of the pink in clean water,
it makes the BR-beam to change colour if I look at the beam at different angles.

orange should work. I've heard of bright orange earplugs fluorescing quite brightly with a green laser. A glass of coke is supposed to also

As luck would have it, liquid LSD is also fluorescent... so if you don't have any highlighters, but happen to have thousands of dollars worth of pure liquid LSD laying around, you can use that instead.

unitednuclear also sells "invisible ink", which is blue highlighter ink without the blue pigment, just the florescent stuff.
