For all of the skilled members out here in the forum I recently thought that if someone could create a keychain, lanyard, beanie, t-shirt...etc. with the LPF emblem on it, the funds raised by the purchase of the merchandise could be donated back to Avery to keep up the server on this amazing forum of knowledge and generosity. Anyone think that this would be a good idea?

I think it's a nice idea, but it will take a huge amount of work for the person who arranges it. I think some profits should go towards paying for the labour as well.
I don't think clothes would sell very well, but keychains, lanyards, cases, pens, etc sound good. I don't mind people knowing that I am into lasers or part of a laser forum, but I am not going to advertise it everywhere I go with a shirt or cap or something - the unenlightened would not understand and I would get even more people asking "Lol why whould you pay so much for a light, what can you use it for?".. and according to a good saying somebody made up in a thread some months ago - If you have to ask, you won't understand.

I agree with you leaning more towards smaller trinkets than clothing (as per the same reasons), as I was just throwing ideas out to the forum for any type of merchandise they'd possibly manufacture/purchase. Thanks for your input Jaseth, 2007Revolution and iskor12!

I love it too. I'd wear an LPF hoodie, as long as it had a cool design on it, not just saying "Laser Pointer Forums".

So, it seems like we've got some interest on this topic, do we have anyone skilled in the creation of trinkets or anything related?

~Jeremy

Well, I know hoodies are easy to make. There are plenty of stores around here where you just bring in a blank hoodie, your image design and they print it onto the hoodie for you. Now as far as keychains and other stuff go, I'm not sure. I'm guessing we should lure people with good graphic skills into this thread such as Niko first?

its a co0l idea=)

in the past Rolf had made a cafepress store to sell LPF shirts and stuff. it was the same idea as above basically but i dont think he has the site anymore

if anyone else wants to do this just let me know in an email or whatever

or maybe just team up w/ Rolf

Big Scary Laser Shop - LPF Fundraiser

Big Scary Laser Hooded Sweatshirt > Big Scary Laser Shop - LPF Fundraiser (this was the shirt that had the LPF logo and name on it i think)

I'll try to make a few concept images within a few days for everyone to look at and judge.

Curiously_Coherent did this before, it was cool. It does require a lot of work, and indeed, wearing an LPF shirt (if it's not properly designed with cool stuff like the WOLF SHIRT) will get you beat up for sure (unless you're carrying and RPL hit them back).

OT: Damn, need to get me a wolf shirt.

The keychain idea seems pretty cool.

I might be able to organise something, maybe like a lanyard/key chain (not sure if thats what they are called).. something like this...

I think that the LPF lanyards will work quite well... I'll enquire about prices, ect tomorrow.

Lol an LPF shirt or hoodie would be awesome! Would be hard organising it all though...

Hey what about a laser jacket?
like the one Bono of U2 was wearing.;)
