If You ever want to do any long exposure photography You will need an equatorial Drive.
Here's an example:
LBN 762 and LBN 753 Molecular Clouds in Aries - Astrophotogallery
That particular example was done with a very good equatorial mount, but it's actually a bunch of shorter exposures stacked. There's a lot of great imagery being done these days with much shorter exposures...
