Looking for someone to fix my Arcane 2.0

I have this Arcane 2.0 laser that i ruined a few years ago. I somehow cracked the glass on the diode and then it led. The driver still works but the diode is done for. If anyone knows if this laser can be dissembled and can fix it for me that would be amazing. I miss this laser. This host weights a ton and i feel like it can handle quite a powerful diode.

Those were built by Eitan who got way ahead of himself and self destructed. Before that happened he started using very cheap drivers for his builds and scrimping on everything before he just took the money and ran. What color and power was this one? Do you want the same color or something else? I would suspect it needs a new driver and diode. Could need more than that.

This was a 1.8w 465nm. I ordered this about a year before his demise. I was thinking a 1w green or a 1.6w 405 with that new multi mode 405 diode.

That's a beefy host, lotsa copper. Go for the 405 or perhaps an N465 pushed hard.

Hi Alex,
Looks like has a 12mm module set onside the heat sink with a set screw . typical build there's a high percentage that the diode and driver can be swapped out for some other WL. From the pic it looks promising . Let me know what your intentions are. Thats a nice host also.

Lifetime does some might fine work. You should be more than happy. Enjoy your new/rebuild. But we ask one thing, Beam shots!!. :)

Oh yes. Ill take tons

:thanks: looking forward to them! :)

I know their a little on the pricey side but the n450 or n465 are very nice diodes for beam and burning ability. I prefer the n465 myself. Food for thought,

Nobody that I know of, has built with the n520 yet. I'm planning on a build with one in a month or so. Somebody gotta take the plung
Will post after I do. :)

What is this n520 diode ? Is it new ? More power ? Divergence? Iv been out of this hobbie for awhile so I'm not in the know lol.

Nobody can get a spec sheet on the "N520" diode, or the other "N" diodes. That's why they are designated as just N and the wavelength. If I were you, I'd go for a better known diode that put out more power. The NDG7475 can put out up to 1.3 watts, the NDG700 can put out 1 watt. The N520 is $10 cheaper than the NDG700, but has a max current of 1.8 amps. The divergence of these diodes is not bad for MM diodes. Don't know what the divergence is on the N520.

I would be a little leery about this particular diode until more is known about it. To me there are too many unanswered questions and for $10.00 more, the NDG700 has a proven record. DTR states you can drive it at a maximum current of 2.2 amps, but recommends it be driven no higher than 1.8 amps. Even if you push it as hard as 2.2 amps, it won't look better than the NDG700, but could look worse or have a much shorter life.
