I have 5 RED Dildas... ranging from 145mW to 213mW.... Just waiting for my 3.6V
CR2s and I'm pretty sure they will all be near 200mW... b/c I know the LD can
do more.... It's the driver that sucks... ::)

White paper reflects too much light for this power of red laser to burn. You pretty much are limited to burning dark colors, with black being by far the best color for burning. I don't know what power of red laser you would need to burn white paper, but other members here might know.

So just to clarify, it is more likely than not that they'll be able to ship it to the US without getting caught up in customs? I've been looking for an alternative to DX for one of these

i have a red i'll sell you, if you look a few pages back you'll see if for $125, but i'll sell it for $100

although shortly after posting that if ound out the charger that DX sent me doesn't even work!

so it would just be the laser and 4x rechargeable CR2 batteries.

laser is set between 420-430mA (jumps around a little bit) with a rkcstr fixed driver

last one i made that was set at 420mA output 240mW.

i just finished this laser a couple of days ago so it's brand new, it's prob had a total run time of about 20 minutes.
it takes 3x CR2, but i'm throwing in all 4 because i know one doesn't work...not sure which though :-[
good deal too, considering parts alone cost just a tad over $100

PM if your interested..

we can always talk more about the price if you'd like....i'm flexible.
