His website was seized/shut down by the FDA. There was a big banner on it saying something like "This website has been removed by the FDA," something of the sort. After that happened he just kinda disappeared, but I guess he still has that ebay store. I dunno if the whole legality thing scared him away from LPF or what, but that wouldn't make much sense seeing as hes still selling.

I also am extremely interested in this conversation in the whole and what ACTUALLY happened to those involved.
Noticed just recently on Fasttech that on a laser that was rated > than 5mW there's a note that says you can't pay for it with PayPal but they will take your credit card. Can still go on Ebay and purchase lots of lasers whose actual output isn't hidden too well. Not going to be surprised when they just ban anything called a pointer/handheld. It will only be OK if it comes in the packaging for something else that needs it such as an accessory to the main product.
I think that unfortunately this forum wouldn't survive if a member did something really stupid regardless of how strongly we smack people around for any hint of inappropriate usage.
In a side note I do a second hand Rick Trent (purchased from another member).

Vorish, I agree with what you are saying. The problem with laws is they seek to punish, restrict and where fines are involved, fund the government instead of educate. Laws are something our "representatives" love to create, as they "protect" us from ourselves while all too often creating a machine that eats people. Our government sponsored mafia is the law in action taking away everything you own if you don't pay their protection money to keep the machine going, I don't even need to say which agency it is, everyone understands.

Why are we loosing our liberties? Because WE allow it, time for change.
