I don't think he connects his case to either pin, so you'd have to do that yourself.

Ok lol so i am following andy con's guide on making a leadlight blu-ray...He puts his negative input to the driver in some really weird place...he bends it over the plastic piece that the switch sits in to make contact with the case....could i solder a wire onto the case pin on the diode that comes back to the negative input on the driver and connect it to the driver? or should i do it the way he does it?  :-?

well, in your build you take the negative going to the driver and put it inbetween the plastic piece that the switch sits in and the case.  What did you do with the not used pin to the ?....lol...i was just wondering where i should make the negative input to my driver lol

either + or - has to run through the leadlight casing, is does not matter which.

in order to run + or - through the case you need to connect a wire to it.
 
ok...ill do it the way in the tutorial...but just to clarify there are 3 pins on a blu-ray diode...the top one which has the little rubber thing around it is positive...and the bottom one that has the little rubber thing around it is negative...then there is one in the middle and off to the side...it isnt used. It has a copper ring where the rubber ring is on the other ones...so the - charge from the batteries goes up through the leadlight case and into the aixiz module and gets transferred to the "case pin" (the one without the rubber rings around it) and then you solder a wire to that and the wire attaches to the - input to the driver....

I hope that makes some sense lol :D

Yes and no.

There MUST be a negative path from the diode to the battery, but it doesn't have to be from the negative wire on the input (battery) side of the driver.

The following is for a "case negative" or "case neutral" diode. Both the red and violet diodes that we normally use (and are usually sold in the Group Buys) are these kinds. If the diode is a case positive diode, the "opposite" path must be used.

Connect the positive from the battery to the input side of the driver (or through a switch or button to the driver)

Connect the positive and negative "wires" from the output side of the driver to the diode.

Here there is a variation between red and violet diodes

If it's a red diode nothing else needs to be done at this step -- If it is a violet diode then the negative pin and the case pin must also be connected.  This connecting of the negative pin and the case pin should be done before (or during) connecting the driver to the diode.  In both of these two scenarios the diode case is now the negative path.

Make sure that the module is electrically connected to the host (a clean tight fit is usually enough).  The host now acts as the negative path to the battery.  The negative "wire" on the battery side of the driver does NOT need to be connected to the host.

so i dont need a negative input to the driver if i just connect the case pin and the negative pin?  :-?
How would i regulate the negative charge? (charge may be the wrong word)
 
WTF is everyone talking about here...

you need to conenct the diode to the driver. the + to the + and the - to the -

you will then need to connect the driver to the batteries with a on/off switch in the middle.

its not rocket science

If the host is the negative path and the module is in good contact with the host, you do NOT need the wire from the "back" of the driver to the negative pin.  In the case of the Rkcstr driver I just cut (or leave)  the black wire off.  In the case of the flexdrive, I just leave the negative alone.

K i think i understand...leave the negative input on the flexdrive alone and solder the positive input to the switch...and then solder a wire to the positive on the diode and that goes to the positive output on the driver. I solder the negative and the case together on the diode and solder a wire to those and then that wire goes to the negative output on the driver...and then i put it all in the leadlight and im done right?
