Lazerer 405mn >500mW laser

I was looking at lazerer website and I came across this laser, they have it in different configurations but I may assume that the inside are all the same. Does anyone here have experience with this exact laser? Does it perform to posted specs? Is it worthit??

i think you meant to put mW or mA but mAh makes no sense, milliAmp hours is for batteries.

also all their drivers seem to run at 400 milliAmps and give an output of 500 milliWatts.

it is an easy mistake to make so dont worry about it :beer:

i will say that 405s are very delicate diodes so not sure how well traveling from hong kong to costa rica would be however, i have never received one damaged package from lazerer since max packages them really really well!!!!

Not that I have first hand experience purchasing this laser but it will most likely be okay, Lazerer are a very good company.

Also it might be a good idea to edit the link into your original post as well, just incase people don't see it here

Take a look at my sig. That's the one I own. Inexpensive for good power but would say that It probably doesn't have the greatest heatsinking looking at the duty cycle and also doesn't weigh much. Mine was way overspec though
If you buy anything from them I would pay for their power certificate even if you can measure it yourself. My reasoning is that if someone is buying a unit with a power certificate it is less likely they would send an underspec unit. Don't think someone would be too happy about buying a 500mw unit and the unit is certified at 420mw

I do not suggest you to buy the 500mW version !
It's way over driven for that tiny heatsink !
Mine died after 4 Hours of use -.-
You'd have to live with an duty cycle of 30s on MAX !!

I also did an review of this exact laser look at my sig !

Yeah, I did see many who ended up burning out their units because of the poor heatsinking and cruddy dutycycle. It's fine for the price if you are just going to use it quick. I don't run any of my units past duty cycle and in fact it would be unusual for me to go over 10 seconds unless I'm measuring output.

Well I appreciate all the comments, I ended up buying a custom made one here on the forum, hopefully it will be better than the one sold by lazerer....
