Lasersman 532nm 200mw 4-in-1

Yes, it is focusable. Take a look at the picture where Wheedy wrote "and it lases" and you will see the unit set up to do this where the head above the ribbed section was replaced with just the cap. That ribbed section will twist to focus. Mine was tight at first so I can see why you might think it doesn't move. Just try unscrewing it after you remove the 4 in 1 difraction head (by unscrewing that) before you put on the cap and you will see:)

Thanks for the reply!

I Thought that might be the focus ring...but, on mine, when the regular cap is installed...that ring just seems to be free-wheeling and doesn't appear to change the focus (to my untrained eye)

Ok...After trying some more whilst aimed at a soft fabric...I got it to focus a bit. Improved...but focus ring still not really working. Thanks again.

Hope your wearing glasses.... Easiest to focus close with glasses. Focusing to infinity on a nonreflective wall is easy but way too bright without them focusing up close and you will likely see a spot for a minute if your staring at it with the naked eye (or worse). 100mw (which is what yours is likely around) with a 532 is VERY harsh on the eyes. Definately not a "toy"

Jess...Too bright to attempt focus on regular surface...
I aimed at fuzzy non-reflective throw covering. Easy to tell difference betwixt big dot and tight.

I just don't understand how a 200mw is measured at around 100mw (previous posts) and people are happy with that?

I'm not a "burner"...so not a big deal...but confused.

I didn't think mine would focus at first - then I kept spinning and spinning the focusing ring. It's extremely fine-tuned. I was able to point it at a building over a mile away one night and focus it down to an extremely tiny (from my view) dot (probably was a foot big on the building). But you can REALLY focus this thing down tight.

Well, the way I see it, and probably other people too, is that you just won't ever find a true 200mw 532nm for $20. Anywhere, almost ever.
Green laser tech is getting cheap, so pens are able to cost ~$5 and output anywhere from true 5mw to 100mw+. True power green modules cost more, simply because they're up to actual spec. That's why true 200mw+ greens cost quite a deal more than anything else. There could be something else I'm missing here of course.

Good form asking the OP btw, its rare that an OP would say-'go start your own thread' if asked before..., but some may tell you that... if it seems to them they are being threadjacked by you.

Good Job Wheedy- +rep when I can...hak:na:
Haha naw, I feel no threadjacking. The more people we have posting the results of their order, the better! Gives us a better idea of how the GB turned out for everyone.
And thanks!

Agree with Wheedy 100%. No way this was going to be 200mw.
I own an inexpensive 532 pen (paid between 5-15 (don't remember) that puts out 107mw.
Moving up to an actual 200mw would be much more expensive.
If these tested out that high they wouldn't be able to keep them in stock.
I'm satisfied because of what I received as a whole package.

So far, I would have to say I've been one of the "luckier" ones with taking a chance on companies that offer very inconsistent mw.

I just received another laser yesterday from Lazerer (first time ordering from them) and LPM tested at 704mw. It's this unit:
Devil Cyber 405nm - 500mW Focusable Violet Laser Pointer

VERY satisfied with it. Way above spec. Not too shabby for a $110 unit from a company and not a custom build.
Mostly getting custom builds here now as the quality is better and I would rather support our members:)

The spring in the 4 in 1 I received was bent down because the side button pushed it down and there's not enough support on the opposite side of the board. I fixed this by adding an extra piece of armaflex insulator (tiny piece that is sticky on one side) on the opposite side of the round foam piece (can't remember what it is called) to support the board alot better and now I get a much better push button action. There was about a 1/16th of an inch gap from side button to board switch.
Also noticed that the board switch isn't lined up (as in the assembly needs to be screwed in farther). The side button only contacts probably 5/8th of the switch inside. It works fine now though (you can't tell physically pushing the side button) since I added more support as I explained so at this moment I don't intend to mess with the unit.

AFAIK all items sold by LM/YL/LPW are made elsewhere- thus the errors in description often come from the makers NOT the drop shippers or re-sellers.

LM has 339 projectors listed- its unrealistic to think they have time or resources to test the hundreds or thousands of units sold weekly.

A long time ago-- before LM et al was even here, I contacted the parent company DinoDirect and offered to help them make some corrections. I eventually got a half-assed reply thanking me for the advice but nothing more- the 'free' editing I sent was never used. Then I went to the REKELASER company site and saw almost every error there that I saw in the Rekes sold my others- so its all about copypasta..

not a good excuse for calling a DD laser item a DPSS or having a green laser in the pic of a red only projector etc but still you can see where some of the error come from.

I have suggested before that we always try to send corrections to any who sell lasers.
If enough do this they MAY some day fix these.

if you really want 200mW just spend $40 and get two of these-- that's still a damn cheap 200mW

I look forward to the others who got these to add to this great thread..

IMO its easier this way than everybody starting another thread on the same laser from the same seller especially in these promotions.. Thanks to all and Kaidy especially.

I *think* kaidy is going to send me one for the help.

so if she does I will do and post a LPM graph and may even test to death..

I DO state that I am pleased with my purchase. Much brighter than a regular 5mw And great price...Just seems that, if it's advertised as a 200mw and in actuality, it's closer to a 100mw............now...if I can just locate the 4-in-1 head piece...I Think my cats may have stolen it! ;)

A dog would just not do that--- cats have a different sense of humor I guess.

lol

about the 200mW... if they did not , they should use the '<' more often as 100mW IS less than 200. And so is 70mW or 50mW or even 5mW.

I think we will be seeing better prices and customer service and more accurate descriptions in the future- my china sources say they are worried about the no longer growing amount of buyers from USA et al. Some may be due to our present finacial conditions but also even more stores opening up will cause a drop in sales- in other words.. a price war and buyers market.
Prime example

$600 for 2W RGB module ttl is a prime example---
with that and a 35K scanner kit with sound/show card( from CLP @ $250) and QS 2.0 FB3( from me @$500) you could DIY your own 2Wrgb with one of the best lasershow SW> for less than $1500usd- of course it would not be a 'legal' PJ in USA but still..

+1 Rep for the review

Im waiting for 2 of this lasers to arrive in the next days. I´m a bit dissapointed as Kaidy assured us that ones were>150mw.

Anyway, seems quite a bargain for the price.

lol
"avoid DRIECT eye exposure"
something tells me not to buy from this company...

Pretty sure that's a standard thing to put on those labels...
