Just got it. Great looking pen. Might use the host for something else in the future. Not bad, a relatively "safe" blue pointer.

It is a nice looking host. Would be nice to buy a few of just the hosts.

What is the link to it again?

You could probably ask Besram/Laserlands about that. They sell the more ubiquitous pen hosts already.

Use alcohol to remove the module. Force will NOT do it. Just soak it in alcohol for a while and it will pull right out. Your lens will be destroyed but everything else will be fine (in theory). I ordered one of these from LaserLands ebay page. It is well over 5mw and I did not get the same nice case you got. I got a cardboard case. I really like the case they included with yours. +Rep if I can.

Is there a visible beam on those ?

No IR right ?

And is there a constant on switch ?

Thanks.

Thanks Razako .
I appreciate the response.

I am also wondering if it might be worth it or possible to go to a brighter Blue 460 or 462nm in a nicer 16340 host at " no goggles" true 5mw for $100 to $150 somewhere ?

460 nm is more Sky Blue or do you need to go higher to 465 470nm to get
Cyan and more visibility ?

I'm not aware of any 462nm or 465nm true 5mw builds out there.

That would be complicated. I have a 1.5W 463nm build with a low power mode that does about 80mW, and the wavelength is considerably lower at the low power. I don't have a spectrometer, but it looks only slightly "bluer" than a 450nm pen, while at full power it's a completely different/lighter color.

Ah...So getting a higher wavelength at low power is difficult because the wavelength goes lower...at lower power.

So I need to get someone to start with a 472 to 488nm Diode to get Cyan at 5milliwatts..assuming they:
1) Exist ...lol

2) Will Lase at 5 milliwatts

3) Cost $ 75 to $100 per Diode so I can have one made for $200. or less..

The 470-490nm diodes are mostly low power, which means they probably won't go down to 460nm at all.
And you'll need an extra zero on those prices.

Well I WANT low power 5 milliwatts in a Sky Blue or Cyan ' brighter wavelength' and then have someone build it into a Host.

So if they remain at 470 to 488 at low 5mw power even better.

Are you saying these Diodes are hundreds of dollars each or more?

Like 500 to 1000 each ? Wow.

That would explain why I am not seeing any Direct Laser in these colors.

The lower outputs 5 mw are for safety and more usage of the Laser.

Most users seem to want higher power but if I buy a laser I definitely want 4 to 5 mw - but not over $150 to $200.

Thanks for the response...I guess if prices come down we may see these wavelengths if the demand is there.

I notice Lazerer did a 473nm ( DPSS) at $299 but out of stock..

A Direct Diode is more durable I assume less to go wrong...
