Okay, so somebody tell me what's going on here....
my rigel is putting out GREEN. When I turn it on it flashes 593.5, then goes IMMEDIATELY to what looks like 532.... WTF?????????
Probably an alignment problem. 593.5nm is made from SFG with a 1064nm and 1342nm photon - so both lines have to be lasing in the cavity to facilitate that process.
But if the 1342nm line stops lasing for whatever reason (or if conditions are otherwise imperfect), 1064nm photons will get combined instead of 1064nm and 1342nm. So you get green.
This was a pretty big problem with earlier 593.5nm pointers.
That picture is amazing- looks like something from a new electron microscope- a picture of an Atom or a Quark or a subatomic collision- not that I have any specific knowledge of these.
