So, being new years eve and all, I took my laser projector outside and got a few beamshots. There is a mountain roughly 2.2km away I use as my beamstop:
So, I set up a wireless router, which I had VNC running on my eeepc, and a VNC viewer on my phone. This was so I could turn the laser off while I wasn't taking pics, didn't want to attract too much attention to myself!
Anyway, no fog and a reasonably clear night, though humidity is around 50%.
Can actually see the dot on the mountain on this one:
THought I'd take the opportunity to check my far field alignment:
Hmmm, not bad over 2.2km I think! Also appears my dual 640nm red module has split again slightly, ahh well, easy to readjust!
Just goes to show, despite the horrible beam specs of the 445nm lasers, combined with 400mW 532 and 300mW 640nm the dot sizes match up pretty much perfectly! Blue overlaps a tiny bit close to the projector, but barely.
Cheers,
Dan
