Laser pointers in urban warfare

I suggest searching for "Egypt laser" on google images.

And thanks for info !

Thanks for the update Grainde

Interesting perspective. I guess we have a very different view and automatically assume it is a negative thing because of all the regulations and laws. Actually kind of nice to know it is in fact seen in a positive light there. The part about snipers is interesting too. I guess when there are guns and bombs going off, lasers are kind of laughable.

Looks like they had a scanner as well:

"long live Egypt" is what it says.

Over there they have a comedy show whereby they scare the crap out of celebrities by making them think that the coach they are on is hijacked by terrorist and make them think they are going to die !!!!

 Different culture I guess, sounds jacked up. Although we have a reality show where people are set up to think they are being abducted by aliens or attacked by bigfoot :)

The scanner and pointers were prominent features of NBC Nightly News' evening broadcast 2 nights ago. They had Richard Engel positioned so that the laser projector image was just next to him behind his shoulder in the frame. Interesting way to protest, but I gotta say I think that showing protest propaganda and giving the play by play on one of the main gov't buildings is clever and cool IMO. I especially liked the "Game Over" frames they were showing.

I've seen some similar ones, the prankster has sometimes taken a beating :)
The people watching think it's hilarious ! He does other crazy stuff that wouldn't be allowed in the western world and probably get you sent to jail

It just goes to show, as you said, cultural differences.

i think the US and especially Australia, Govs need to read this and take a new perspective on it, it should still be very illegal, but not as crazy as they are where they ban lasers all together, such as Australia

dang lol that could be dangerous lol, if i ever am on a plane with terrorists on my plane, i will try to kill them, whatever chance i get, weather i blind them with my laser than jump on them, or just thow my suit case at them and jump on them, or die trying.
form what i see, im gonna die in a few minutes anyway, but be on a plane that is gonna crash into and kill a bunch of other people in a building somewhere.. maybe i will actually survive, better odds then going into a building at 500mph

Agreed. Government regulation tends to go a little overboard sometimes
