laser physics argon question

Is he talking about me, or am I paranoid? I cant tell sometimes.

I can't actually tell from the post.

I think maybe Len had the mushroom soup for dinner :undecided:

And yes; you're paranoid :na:

Peace,
dave

thanks for the info guys.
sorry for my poorly phrased question. i did remember reading the laser auto switched input voltage. i just wanted to be Sure.

I'm not sure how your mains wiring works exactly there in the US, but the argon is 220V SINGLE phase input. I would assume that the 220V you have in your home is also single phase, as it's rare to have more than 1 phase to your home.

i have since learned about phase. i had thought that since there were 2 legs of 110 to total 220v that meant 2 phase. i've learned my 110v outlets are split phase. thanks

i just want to report that my laser physics argon does indeed work run on my house 220VAC. all i had to do was change out the plug on the laser.

^^^^ Yep gas is da bomb :D

Sorry could not help myself. It looks awsome Cheech. Congrats.

the spots are sooo perfect. i'm in love.
that argon just trips my trigger when i hear the sound of it starting:worthy:

It's designed to run on Australian mains, which means it's probably rated to run at 50Hz instead of 60Hz also. I can't see your pic so I'm only taking a stab in the dark here, but considering you got it from TLL, I'm pretty sure I know which model you're talking about.

Techically in North America, 220/240v service is dual phase.
single phase 220v is UK, Spain, Korea, Italy...
Just be careful as it sounds like there could also be a frequency mismatch.
While it may not cause any immediate problems now, it can cause extra wear on
The xmfrs and any solid state components.
I know a few people here in Korea who destroyed appliances
Because of line freq issues. We use 60hz here. Many appliances
That came from Europe are meant for 50Hz stop working properly due to the higher line freqency.

I love the sound of the fans on those things - you turn the key and its like starting up a small jet aircraft :)
