Let’s make our New Year resolution to be there for each other and help fellow human beings in need even if we don’t know them personally. So come let’s spread some kindness and cheer!

Man! Good thing, I was worried there for a sec. :D

Yeah, black holes are fascinating... :D By the way a nice scifi movie is Interstellar - there is a really large blackhole, which looks almost like in reallity (according to theories) - spacetime deformation, light beams bending etc. - as Kip Thorne helped them with special effects. Just they somehow omitted to include wavelength switch so it would be in different colours. But that one is different from microscopic black holes - real 'sucker'.

To the topic: If host, optics and driver are ok, it could welcome new diode to bring laser back to life. :)

Maybe not re-focus but will return power back into the diode

No. The reflected beam's diameter will be a few mm. Let's say 2x1mm to be generous, and to make the calculation easy. The effective lasing area is about 2x1 microns. That's 2x1/(2000x1000).

Literally 99.9999% of the reflected power misses the die. This is effectively zero. The light from EXTERNAL sources (ambient) have several orders of magnitude more effect than an internal diffuse beam.
