Ok so Kenoms logo competition got me in gear again, so here is another render with some colour variations.

I changed the setting and lighting method so It looks more realistic and only took 1 60th as long to render as the last one!

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Will the grooves still have rubber inserts? Are they attached manually

Mule

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

The grooves will have the rubber inserts. They will be shipped in strips along with the barrels and you can all put them in or not.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Kenom, does the Kryton Groove come with collimation optics? And are you still selling these? I am really thinking of getting one of these and making a blu-ray! And one last question: what current can I drive a PHR 803T to get ~150mW? Thanks!

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Yes I'm still selling them. Yes they come with optics and to get a 803t to output 150mw you'd need about 150-190ma depending on the diode. Each bluray diode exibits different power at the same current.

OK, I asked my dad if I could get one and he said "Yes" (which now means next week ;)) Those barrels look amazing! :o So, how long to they take to ship to Canada?

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

well first we need to wait for the barrels to finish turning. Since the manufacturer indicated that the barrels won't turn for another two weeks and it will take a week or two for them to finish, plus anodizing it would take about a month to have them in your hand.

I can wait... 8-)

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Wait, how much are the collimation optics? Also, I have one of those 803T blue diodes from the group buy. Will the driver that comes with this barrel work on those diodes to output full power?

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Yup. Optics are free with this unless you want to buy one of IgorT's new fancy bluray lens.
