La Spada Verdi: 1st Ever 520nm 115mW MS-SSW; Build/Review; Very Pic Heavy

Re: Very Pic Heavy: Build/Review: La Spada Verdi: 1st Ever 520nm 115mW MS-SSW

Hey Scumbag, I don't suppose you have any pictures of this host next to a well known smaller host, perchance? Like a C6 host? Or even a coke can will do. I want to get an idea of what I will be working with.

Have you got your Krytons yet?

Here are some shots for perspective. In this; The MS-SSW, Kryton Groove, MXDL, 22650 battery, 18650 battery, 16340 battery.

I didn't purchase any Krytons. With any luck (assuming CNI allows our GB the 10 pcs price on the 800mW 532nm PGL-III-C) I will be giving a large chunk of money to CNI. And quite happily too!

EDIT: I noticed in the picture the beam seems to come out at a slight angle. Is this camera effect? Or was the diode ever so slightly crooked in its' seat? My PL450B came slightly crooked....bugs the shite outta me sometimes.

I don't think it's the diode itself. I think it's the lens in the focus knob. Tomorrow, I am going to double check the module seating, and then I am going to double up the exterior spring with an internal one. It's an inconvenience, but I think I will work it out.

Re: Very Pic Heavy: Build/Review: La Spada Verdi: 1st Ever 520nm 115mW MS-SSW

I hope it is the lens. On mine I can visually see the diode can seated somewhat off perpendicular with the host. Sucks not being able to do anything.

EDIT: your Kryton is sexy by the way. I may need to buy one.

Isaac, you want my 3W polished Kryton? I'll give you a good deal.

Re: Very Pic Heavy: Build/Review: La Spada Verdi: 1st Ever 520nm 115mW MS-SSW

Maybe....I will shoot you a PM. Although my current plan is:

230 MS-SSW 9mm Build ~3W 445nm
430 PGL-III-C 800mW 532nm CNI
120 Kryton 638nm Optnext 200mW Laser(after seeing your host)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
780 Total

I may need to calm my spending habits lol. I JUST bought one of Daguin's Scientech 20W LPMs for 342 bucks shipped :O

Re: Very Pic Heavy: Build/Review: La Spada Verdi: 1st Ever 520nm 115mW MS-SSW

If there is a finer host for the 9mm than Sinner's Secret Weapon, I am not familiar with it!

The CNI machines have only wavelength to interest me. I have no need for a burning 532. Heck, La Spada Verdi burns electrical tape already!

I just saw that Clif, over at Cajun Lasers has his Krytons in. They're at a premium, but they're well worth it.

If you know anyone who wants a 9mm Kryton, send them my way. I am saving my 638nm for Sinner's MS V5, and naming it Balrog!

Hey Caesar Agustus Scrummatorus Baggins, you should be aware another has named their laser after the likeness of hell itself. The Balrog name has been set upon another.

I will try to find the username of the person but I saw it in their signature. LOTS of LOTR names on their lasers.

Well, that's ok. Pman does good shit. I'll work something else out. Time to google translate "Fire in the Sky" in Japanese..

No, not really :D I think you'll come up with something nice. I was searching Mythical swords the other night to find a name for the Kryton.

In Norse mythology, Gram (Old Norse "wrath")[1] is the name of the sword that Sigurd used to kill the dragon Fafnir.[2]

Forged from the shards of his slain father's sword able to cleave an anvil in two. I figured it would be appropriate for such a beast as yours ;)
