Kenometer laser power meter interest. LITE version *closed*

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. Updated with LITE version

Yes...
I'm aware of all those possibilities and a few more... as I researched them for our
LPM products...;)
I was only asking Ken which route he is using for his USB Kenometer...

Ya know I don't know for sure that we've ironed out that particular issue completely yet. I do know that it will have pc connectivity.

Just added another design as I don't like the side mounted sensor on #1 soooo.

example5.jpg

to give you ideas of dimensions involved, the front face is 3.5" across and 1.75" tall. The slope will be about 3" tall

Will be about 3" deep and at the back about 4" tall.

I like that design alot more.

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. Updated with LITE version

I also prefer this design :)

^ Agreed...Version 1.2 looks great.

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. Updated with LITE version

I like the designs, but one nice thing about side-inputs is that you don't need to have the laser right below you when you're messing with the display. Then again, that's nice for showing power + beam shots.

you are right didn't think about this ... side-input is better, personnaly I prefer practical than design

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. Updated with LITE version

I thought the front advantage would be it's hard to position the laser onto the sensor while it's shining into the side. Since your looking at it from the front, you can't look off to teh side as easily at the same time.

right also ... now it's confusion in my mind, lol

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. Updated with LITE version

I still thinkt the front mount is better because it is easier to aim at the sensor. The side sensor would only be useful if you wanted to take pictures of the laser as its being metered.

Yeah, but it's going to be an awesome graphing screen, so you might just clamp it down so you can watch the screen rather than your aim.

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. Updated with LITE version

I dunno if Ken forgot to mention this in here or not, but I have working on a bit of code for the graphic LCD, but the pixel resolution on the LCD would not be adequate to show power levels on the graph, instead it would show the trend of your laser. Unless we can work with using the average reading as sort of a scale on the graph. Ken can fill you in more on this if needed, as they are his meters :)

Hey Ken...

Just out of curiosity what will the Graph viewing dimensions be on
that Kenometer Pro...

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. Updated with LITE version

128x64 pixels, unless Ken has other plans :)

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. Updated with LITE version

The question was for "physical" Dimensions....:undecided:

If the pixels are 1 inch square it would be one thing
but if the pixels were 1 micron square it would be quite
something else...

Need to know if I will need a microscope to see the
graphing screen or if I can see it from across the street... ;)

Oh, sorry, it'll be about 70.7*38.8mm ...
