That's not that bad of an offset especially if we are still able to upgrade the lite to a pro for the difference in price.

The thermopile starts with a basic reading based on temp. the reading is usually 2 or 3 mw either + or -. the zero offset makes it so you can change that to zero and do your reading without having to add or subtract the initial reading. However it must be understood that the air temp changes constantly and after your laser starts reading the air temp could increase also skewing the readings. Even the straight from coherent units say they have an ambient temp variance. Since the head is very good and only varies by 4mw max based on ambient air temp, I decided that a zero offset was not needed. All you have to do is quickly subtract 4mw from the final reading if it's + and add 4mw if it's in the -.
