So i kinda just got into lasers and i keep seeing all these really expensive and high end laser sites but are there any sites that offer weaker lasers like around 10~25mW for under 30 dollars? I don't want to start my new hobby with a death cannon.


And also:I ordered a 10mW green laser form laserpoint.com a couple of weeks ago and it STILL hasn't shipped. maybe my mom didn't order it correctly (Yes my mother ordered it) but I'm not sure. any one ever had a bad experience with this site?:thinking:
 





Well i have already bought a 5mW 405nm pen laser of amazon. But any way you say these 5 dollar lasers are 30mW *ummmmmmmmmmmmm......*
 
Laseglow, Optotronics, Jetlasers, Lazerer, and skylasers sell good lasers. My suggestion is look into O-like, Rayfoss, and Lazerer; they tend to be less expensive. Ebay and Amazon pens are usually over spec, its actually hard to find one thats not over spec in my experiences. Chances are your 5mW pen is actually +10 times the rated power.
 
No one has mentioned the WL core? Aside from the feedback, the core seems to be on spec for 5mW. People here tend to like the core the best haha.

Edit: A 5mW 405 would not be bright at allll. thats the reason the ebay pens are so over spec. so they are somewhat visible.

For reference I have a 75mW 405nm pen and only in a completely dark room is the beam visible.

Note: WL core are overpriced, unless your really in love with the host, which is very nice.

Well sh*t. i can see the beam okay in a dark room (5mW) and it i poit it at the back of my hand at like 5 in. it gets warm O.o it acts like a black light
 
I have a "5mw" 405 pen, I can see it very well in a dimly lit area; my guess: your laser is >100mW, depending on the width of your beam. If it heats up your hand w/ a fairly wide beam it's probably >130mW.
 
I'm not sure if its THAT strong. when i first got it pointed in my eye for a split second while pointing it a a large glass sphere. nothing happened.

Now I'm not very experienced with lasers but i can be positive this isn't on spec.
 
^__________^ LOL IM SERIOUS i bought a 405nm laser (200mW) 3 days ago ...just waiting for it to LPM it (: but besides the questionable mW output and up to spec lasers ...their customer service is pretty good !! you chat live with the seller ...(real one !! not computer!) ETC
