JetLasers - Stand up company or no?

Hi all, first post here. I invested in a JetLasers PLE-Pro 520nm 70mw green laser in April. Paid via Paypal and I got a shipment notification that an order would be arriving today, signature required. So I took a day from work and stayed home. FedEx just got here and it was only the 3x batteries that were part of my order. I've received nothing that says the actual laser or the goggles have shipped and on their order page it only says "payment accepted". I hit the "contact us" page and asked for an update but haven't heard back yet (to be fair, I just did this a few hours ago, so not necessarily expecting a response yet).

Anyone dealt with these folks and have any feedback or know how they typically handle shipping?

Great brand. Only heard great things about them.

Thanks Alex. I did poke around the search a bit before posting. I'm mostly just wondering if it's typical for them to ship things in pieces like this, and if so, what can I expect as far as communication about the rest of the order and lead times. So far, I've heard zero about the laser shipment and payment was 9 days ago. Like I said, I got a FedEx notification that a shipment was arriving. I had no idea it was going to be just the batteries, and batteries require a signature, so if the laser does as well, it would have been nice if they shipped it all together so I didn't have to be home twice. A little frustrating.

Use the LPF seach function at bottom of page--search JetLasers -- there are hundreds of post about their great products ans excellent customer service.

JetLaser is a 100% excellent in every way company and beyond excellent products--email support@jetlasers.com and ask them about any order you made and paid for. Do you imagine LPF is the central shipping office of every shipper JetLaser might use?
Nobody here wouldl have any answers about--is an idotic meaningless question to ask here.

PS make a post in the Welcome subforum about yourself and interests if you expect any help from LPF members

Other than that Welcome, enjoy the forum

Depending on your location they may ship batteries separately, importing >5mW laser pointers is restricted/illegal in some countries (The US being one). If they don't send batteries with the unit it's thought that it'll be easier to get by customs.

The rest will show up soon.

It is generally not a good idea to have your li-ion batteries shipped with the laser order, especially if it's coming from overseas.
This is probably why your order was shipped in multiple packages. Usually Jetlasers ships in one package, unless it's an extremely large order.

Edit: kcobean, if you could put your general location in your profile, we could direct our answers better, for instance, you may not even live in the U.S. which could make shipping altogether different.

You're so friendly....

I asked because this seems like a place full of knowledgeable people who might have experience with JL's shipping practices and could provide some feedback like "yeah, that's totally normal to get the batteries a few days ahead of the laser", or "that's weird, I'd shoot them an email to see what's up".

but again, thanks for your help.

Thanks BowtieGuy. Much appreciated.

re: your Edit. Done. Thanks for the tip. And I did make an intro post in the new members section as well.

I'd give it a bit more time and see if the laser shows up next. As mentioned, it's likely they shipped the order in separate pieces.

Thanks Razako, sounds like you're right. I'll give it a few more days. :)

Plenty of reliable places to get batteries in the states. Illumsupply.com is my preference. Jetlasers won't screw you but our customs have a job to do. So it's a roll of the dice with pretty good odds in your favor. There are great options state side if your decent with a solder gun and have disposable income.

I got a response from Gray already. Laser is on the way. Thanks!

Hi, I've only the best experience with them. It is a pleasure to chat with Gray from their customer support. They could send just batts as sometimes the package might be refused for shipment for containing batts. Laser should come later, if it was not seized by customs. Just give them time to respond you (time zones, a lot of orders...), they are pretty fast especially in urgent matters (compared to other companies). Have no worries, you will get what you will paid for (in deed you will get much more).

BTW It is much better to set delivery address to work to be sure they can reach you. I do it this way - I track my package via mobile app and in case I see I'm not available at the moment of estimated delivery, I can instruct courrier and receptionist here to do everything necessary (checking the package from outside if not damaged, paying some customs fees etc.) for receiving it.

Edit: Well I see, you've got an answer from them. Good luck, enjoy the laser when it comes and stay safe. ;)
