AFAIK nobody has one yet-- they just now got built-

if you go by the PL-C 250mW 532nm-

you can expect a nice battery run time- this of course somewhat depends upon which 18650 battery you buy (not included w/ your laser) If you keep an extra one on hand fully charged I dont see the problem anyway. You can upgrade your choice anytime except after the close( at least 8 to 10 days away)

I'm not talking about battery life. I meant diode life. Looking at the current stats for 12x's, not many people have pushed their diodes up that high. Will they keep going at that power for a relatively long time?

As for batteries, I have 4x 2600mAh AW 18650's here already along with some 1100mAh A123 18650's. I plan to get some more of the AWs at some point because I have so many items that take 18650s now. 2600mAh should keep going for a fairly long time, along with a max current draw of 5.2A. As long as the PL-Cs can take flat-top cells, I'll be fine.

^^^ from what I read the 12X is not as hardy s the 445- they dont seem to take being banged around very much either. I dont imagine that it will be overspec.


I thiink this is bettered aswered by Gray and his techs.

The diodes were gotten from Morgan so he may know a lot as well.

I will put you down as 'no charger' saves you 10$

BUMP-- this GB is NOT closed- The reason closed GBs appear in this section ahead of active ones escapes me-

especially a GB for 2 or 3 diodes-cough cough-

Got my diffraction gratings in the mail today! One of them was cracked BUT hakzaw is sending me a replacement and prepaid envelope to ship the broken one back. Great service! I took some pictures of the grating in use (Click for larger)

What I´ve read is that there won´t be a JL GB #4 for some time.

All right, I've made my final decision for this GB: 800mW 405 PL-C and 250mW 532 Ti pen. Should be a nice 405, and you can never have too many 532s. :D

actually I have not asked Gray about GB#4- so we shall see what we shall see. He is not the owner or CEO of JETL.btw

I am getting antsy to get my hands on a 405 PL-C ...so fellers-- what do you say about ending this soon!!


We have enough- room for more - but no matter. I am going to PM Gray to see if JETL is ready and make sure all on the list are ready or very close.

Then we just have the 'WAIT'. We love USPS Money Orders but PP marked as payment for goods is fine. Do not send as gift PLEASE- i want no part of PP hassels.

I hope Customs and HLS has gotten over the toner bombs and as JETL is on the "Trusted Shippers' list we should have no snags- but please be aware no matter how well this is handled there is ALWAYS a possibility of a snag. Things out of the control of Gray or myself are out of our control.

Our tracking numbers will be sent to all via PM--NOT posted here - DHL seems to always come thru for us but thier tracking often has some lag time- one day it looks like the box is still in HongKong then BAM!! Its in the truck and out for delivery. I cant bank transfer our money until I have all of it. If you are send ing me a USPS MO go ahead and buy it(~$2) It must be made out to me and sent to me in Texas. Please send it as a priority letter. 2/3 day delivery with confirmed delivery. PM me for my Tx addy.

Send me a USPS MO if you can...This would be a nice way to say thanks to JETL and Gray as the PP fees are quite high, and besides PP really only gives you buyer protection if you are buying from them(FeeBay) If paying by PP plz put NOTHING in the notes etc about lasers!!! DO put your LPF name in the notes. I do not like to ship to any other addy other than the one you have confirmed with PP. This helps to avoid any possible problems with hijacked PP accts. PM me if this is a prob for you.

to move this up above threads about CLOSED GBs-- if they are closed- who cares???

Thanks to those who have already sent their $$ for GB#3--I will be closing this one very soon and calling for all $$.

USPS MOs are the preferred method but PP is OK-- it just costs Gray more.

BTW IIRC PPs buyer protection is not too helful if your payment is made for an item that is not from FeeBay( who owns PP BTW) So if those not wanting to get a Money Order from the Post Office are using that as a reason - think about that.

If a USPS MO gets messed with that is a Fed. Offense. This is our third GB- no one got scammed or got a bad laser so far so..... still your choice. but plz dont PP as a 'gift'- use payment for goods and put NOTHING in your PP to me about lasers PLEASE

your PP for the shipping gets sent AFTER I inspect you laser and meter it(I dont do a graph btw)= that PP gets sent as 'personal' for payment owed(not as gift)once you send that I ship out to you -at your door for your sig-insured- tracked in 2/3 biz days.


CHECK the OP for the latest.

Those not sending their payment or not contacting me will be considered as NO LONGER INTERESTED IN THIS GB.

EDIT 2: Heh, just realized I sent you $580, as in $300 for the 405 and $280 for the pen, forgetting that the 405 is just $290 after dropping the charger. Oh well, consider part of my shipping paid, or you can put that toward's Gray's PP funds. Just let me know how you use it. ;)
