Jetlasers 150mW Portable Green Laser

First of all I never said it was FDA certified it is FDA compliant.
Second the manufacturer is JetLasers.net which then sells to laserpointerpen.net

Whether it's FDA complaint or not is immaterial; if it is not FDA certified with a FDA accession number, it's illegal to import. I'm simply pointing out that they are not certified and that the sticker is misleading; if it is seized for whatever reason, don't count on getting it back...

Secondly, how do you know jet lasers manufactures these units? My bet is on skylasers; they've been around for years and their design haven't changed...

Why would jetlasers have a website if they didn't produce them why wouldn't they just sell straight from laserpointerpen.net instead of paying for another website for no reason? Jetlasers sells to freak lasers aswell...also if you look at the skylaser you will notice that it has different ridges on the head and has a camera tripod mount on it?
I believe that signifies two different lasers with similar body/hosts.

I've looked a pictures of the two and the only visible difference is a flattened ridge on the knurling and the "tripod mount". Heck, I counted the number of ridges in the head and they both have the exact same number... Stickers are virtually identical, switch and sticker placements are the same, knurling on the focusing head is appropriately the same width. The dimensions are virtually identical, there is a 28mm length difference that could account for the tailcap not being included. Now is this "evidence" purely coincidence? If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck....

I haven't outright offended you in any way, nor have I "trashed your tread"; you come across as being on the defensive side...

No problems I just dont believe that this is a skylaser but you can have your own opinion and I can have mine... Im going to bed!

Looks very much like a skylasers unit. IIRC, a lot of their underspec second rate crap units were sold off to various chinese sellers.

Secondly, It probably isn't FDA certified! Last I knew, Skylaser units do not have accession numbers; the FDA sticker is fake.

I agree with you. They'll not be really "FDA certified" unless they provide a real FDA accession No. But I guess what they claim is that the safety features like aperture protection, key witch and remote connector key are compliant with what FDA requires on a Class IIIB laser.

The reason why cni or jetlasers don't sell lasers directly to customers may be they don't wanna break against FDA regulation by themselves, but they just provide lasers to those resellers like dragonlasers, laserpointerpen or the called freak lasers who just don't care and try to get the lasers shipped out to US. It's risky enough. :yh:

exactly but I could care less as long as they are giving up to spec lasers that aren't broken/dead on arrival junk! As you can see that is not the case!

CNI sells to LPP.net as well as dragon lasers and freak lasers...

Man, You've looked at the two carefully but missed the big 'superficial' difference. NM. If it's a duplication, the 'mimicking' work is poor enough.

It's so self-evident.

I hope the comparison can be made 'alive'. Not only about the laser heads or dimensions, coz they're so easy to copy. The tests need to be done on both, comparing the 5 mins' stability, beam divergence, ir filtered or not, etc. I would like to donate my 200-300mw red laser model for this trial. :)

EHM ..... are you using these laser goggles ? ..... have you tried (in a corner) if the lens part can block all the beam ? (the lens part, ofcourse, not the side shields part)

I'm asking just cause, til now, all the goggles with that appearence that i have seen til now (light orange grinder safety goggles) does NOT block more than 40 or 50% of the beams passing through .....

Very nice laser and review +1
But, the sound of the balloon poping? wtf, the balloon itself did not pop. LOL

youtube compressed my video but it didnt compress audio or something so the vid is out of sync.

It does block all the 532nm light.... I thought the same thing because its such a light color but Ive seen the really dark red ones not block it so I think it is dependent on the dye that they use on the glasses!

I completely agree with the focusing head having different grooves but your red laser has no ir filter because its a diode laser and wouldn't work for stability because green and red are two different lasers that cant be compared.

Oh. 660nm red laser is a diode laser and is not pumped from any ir LD. I'm afraid testing it with a ir filter in power meter will also filter the 660nm beam. :)

But it can be compared esp. in stability coz it works well when left on continously for >5 mins though the brightness is un-comparable.

thanks:

Nice review, thanks, it's always nice to hear something about a relatively unknown company.

Btw, it's couldn't care less... If you could care less then it's kind of a pointless thing to say.

Sorry just something that bugs me :)

When I said I could careless about the FDA sticker being real or not so I was trying to tell digital-blue that.

i would email them and see if they could apply for the FDA accession No., and then have it published here. :) Then every buyer will be less concerned about the Legal/Illegal stuff.
