Is AixiZ High?






We often forget that we are VERY spoiled here in the laser hobbyist community. What we think of as normal pricing is ridiculously cheap compared to the real world. If you are a person who doesn't know what we know, 20mW of 405 for $142.50 might seem quite reasonable.
 
Lowbrow or not, I know Dr. Maricle very well.. he's a top notch guy and I would highly recommend Aixiz to anyone. If you don't like their pricing on something, go elsewhere. Honest, stand-up people like Chuck are very hard to find.

Have you ever talked to Nichia about what they charge for a 20mW diode?

Sure, but they are the best money can buy. They are not Sanyo/Mitsubishi.

Come on now, you cant honestly say there is nothing wrong with that listing. He is using Kipkay's name to sell over priced diodes made by who knows who. Plus the descriptions contradict each other. If he was selling Nichia diodes I would have never made this thread.
 
Aixiz voilet lasers have always been expensive. Their cheapest 405nm module is a 5mw one for $80. They also sell a regular 80mW lab module for more than a thousand dollars.

The description says its a Sanyo LD-660nm-200mw, and in the other description it says Mitsubishi 405nm 20mw.

WTF-WTF? T_J-- when I click on the link you give us all I can see is 'This is a new Mitsubishi 405nm 20mw laser raw diode suitable for the Kip Kay instructable project or in any other application where it may be needed.'

So who is high here??== as far as KIPKAY goes-- don't blame Dr Chuck-- he is only doing what a good businessman does to advertise this diode. He is in no way responsible for anything Kipper does. Many LPFers found this forum thru KK videos- perhaps the only thing we can say good about Kip.

And as EF says Dr. M. is top notch-you won't find better after-the-sale support and we are truly lucky to have other forum members that give us deals like we get via LPF.

Dave offers an Argon at a fraction of the price on EEKBay- same thing with stuff from Glenn and Jay and Moh - and so many others- that does not make anyone on Ebay rip=offs--- nobody is holding a gun to your heads and making you buy from Ebay. If it were not for higher sales on ebay we very well may not enjoy the deals we get here.

Although I have never met Dr. Chuck in person I consider him a friend too. He has always responded to my emails quickly and politely. He gave me his personal phone number and offered to meet with me in Houston and allow me to pick up anything I wanted to buy to save any shipping cost. He has given items to members for free to test and review. He has replaced items that failed and sometimes it was NOT the fault of AixiZ but rather something that the buyer did wrong--what else is expected from AixiZ??---Hak

I see that now. mistakes happen even by the Pope(and me too). I will email him and I bet its corrected in less than 48hrs..........................................................UPDATE-- listing error got fixed in less than 12 hours!!! I have sent many many corrections to China sellers and as yet not ONE ever made the much-needed changes. FYI Aixiz just came out with anew driver for less than 6$ shipped to USA AND it has TTL too with adjustment ---only 10X20 mm plus super quick delivery from Texas. see here---

It's not the sellers fault, if someone is stupid enough to just buy a diode without shipping around then they deserve to pay the extra price.

Has anybody sold a 5mW green laser for $50 in a bar? I have back when they were around $20 for the cheapest ones around.
 
I paid like 100 bucks back in like 99 for a 5mW green pointer. I got it at Frys. I thought is was coolest fricken thing ever. Green pointers were very rare back then. Not like now.

That 20mW $145 diode is there for like, a year now.

Why raise dust over it now?

Nobody is making you buy it, so why the fuss?

I also have nothing but exeptionally good things to say about Aixiz and Chuck.
