i think he was asking brittany to take the picture out of the quote.....

and i agree brittany if people admitted that they were wrong and and didn't constantly troll who corrected them this place would be even better.

its sad the whole troll fest was all started because ablaze can't admit he was wrong on more than one occasion. instead of recognizing it and simply admitting his mistake, he decided to just troll people that corrected him and bring up other things to troll people even though they are completely unrelated. i even said i did not need a fight on the internet but he decided to continue to pick one and blame everything on me. he trys to call me the troll :wtf: btw intentionally misspelling my name is textbook trolling. every one knows that, it is just so obvious you are the one thats really trolling here. im just responding to a lost cause by trying to get you to learn etc.' if you keep with the i dont care if i'm wrong your trolling me" attitude you will just get more -reps.

I did some more research & this is what I have found:

The image that can be seen through the lens is captured by the camera sensor. The sensor is electronic and whatever information in there will be read by the camera processor (a mini computer). That information will be sent to the LCD driver chip and will be displayed like what is done on TV and the laptop monitor.


I know what you are thinking, what a PITA to do, why not just buy a A Camera where everything will be there already.

Well, "individual lenses" typically are of higher quality VS the ones found on an "all in one camera." There are A LOT of "used" individual Lenses on craigslist in my area: both new & old with some exotic Optical Zooms:)

Now, I need to figure out how to apply an LCD Screen to an "individual lens."

That is just one website of many where I can find Camera Parts, in my case an LCD Screen. However, I am not exactly sure if these LCD Screens are equipped w/ : Processor, chip, etc (all the things in between that I need for projecting Image from lens to LCD)

There is also the support circuitry for all those chips, which need to be incorporated. Voltage regulation, logic function chips, reference clock (not actually a clock, it's an electronics term), other stuff I don't know of, and then there's the LCD driver firmware that needs to be programmed in (as in writing the code software, not installing something you download).

I know some very advanced radiological survey hobbyists who have been able to program their own LCD dot-matrix display screens using the PIC type processor chips, but all that stuff is WAY over my head.

My point is, all these subelements of a camera are NOT plug&play. You can't just connect one to another on a breadboard, it doesn't work that way unfortunately.

Hm, Find a neglected Camera for cheap, swap out the "brains" and find a compatable lens. .......it doesnt work that way does it.

Interesting, so there is not Chip, Sensor, notta-no "brains" attached to the LCD. Meaning when you buy an individual LCD, you are just getting the "raw" LCD, NOTHING more?

If you look the word "practical" up, you'd see my name behind it. It really bothers me that I am going to have multiple functions on my instrument that do nothing but take up space (even if it is a few sq inches) & serve no purpose
 
Yep, 'fraid so. An LCD is just that, one liquid crystal display, and nothing more. (They don't even have built in back lighting!)

Aye, just get the cheapest camera you can that will still meet your needs. There's no shame in using off the shelf parts. I'm building a few laser transceivers (voice over laser light) for a Ham radio convention next year, for the Morse Code part I could have designed a driver for a bare diode from the ground up and also housed it and bought a lens of my own and assembled everything.... but an off the shelf TTL-ready diode/driver/housing/lens module was only $5 shipped. So, I bought the module. (I will be using a kit for the brains behind the voice one though, but the laser end of it will be "hand made" so to speak).

Voltage Regulation? : slap some resistors on there:)

LCD driver firmware/logic function? : Pshh, jus a bunch of bits & bytes, nothing a few 0's & 1's can't figure

Ha, btw not sure if you came across my "Solar Power" thread, but basically I have been trying to figure out how to build Solar cells.

I have been doing some research on how CCD's work and LOL, its basically an array of millions of solar cells

I should look into this, I think it'd work more efficiently than Powdered Doughnuts & Tea.
 
The economics of scale are working for you here. If you had to get someone to build you a digital camera using a well equipped garage setup it would cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Look at this: How I built a toaster from scratch.

CCDs are actually more akin to millions of light-sensitive capacitors than they are to photoelectric cells. Instead of generating an electric charge, CCDs store one given to them and only pass it along the array when incident light strikes it. CCDs require a clock (frequency pulse generator) to push the array's data out of it in an orderly fashion.

I am sorry about the undesirable elements, Brittany, they have been bothering me as well, and not just in this thread. The mods here seem unable or unwilling to do anything about them, so they just run around attempting to annoy people.

It's sad, really, because there truly are a lot of helpful and friendly people here. You just have to learn to recognize the trolls and attempt to ignore them.

There was a time that the list of animals that were considered undesireable and could be killed anytime in any number and by almost any means, was quite long.
Perfect example is the mis-named 'Chicken Hawks'... thier benificial predation upon true pests like rats far outweighs any killing of poultry. And it idiotic to think a hawk should 'know' to not kill a chicken.
I agree that coyotes do take a lot of both, game animals and even pets. I have spent a lot of time in the woods of Ohio, Texas, Florida and Canada and have yet to see a single fox.

I come from a family of deer,pheasent and rabbit hunters- we ate everything we killed.

I am actually in favor of unlimited killing of feral hogs, as the have really gotten out of hand, especially here in Texas.

If anyone thinks "Hunting" is cruel, take a look at Mother Nature.

-I was out bow hunting a few weeks ago & observed 2 Coyotes run down a Fawn (baby dear) from it's mother. Sad thing about it was the Coyotes had a good portion of the fawn gone before the animal had actually reached death.



To me, it's 1 shot, 1 kill.

-Anything beyond that, I consider inhumane.

I used to Trap, but I am not fond of it. Unfortunately, most of the traps are not "instant kills" meaning there is often a period of time before the animal trapped/snared actually reaches death. Live Traps & relocating are a different story. I am talking about Foot Traps, Snares & Conibears.

I respect people who trap, but will not ever do it again.

I am A hunter who respects Nature & am a good Sport. I do not "hunt to kill." Like noted before, if anyone thinks "hunting" is inhumane, he/she really needs to get out in the Woods to see how cruel Mother Nature is & can be.
 
I only support hunting if the person is actually making use of what they kill (as in eating it). In fact hunting is MUCH better than buying meat out of a super market. Look at it like this. You could either hunt an animal that has had a full natural life living in the wild and quickly kill it or you could buy meat from a store where the animal spent it's entire life in a cage with no quality of life. IMO it's a no brainer but not every one feels the same way. Although I will say that trophy hunting IMO is retarded, barbaric and wasteful.

However, I do not eat Fox, Coyote, Or Coon:yh: Only hunt them in the Winter when their Coats are Prime, shooting them in the "off season" is pointless.

Oh, and to add to your paragraph, those "caged animals" are not usually "instant kills." I have been to a few slaughter houses (AG Country round here) & eh' I'll leave it at that.

I know...... that was my point, that hunting is a lot more humane and painless than factory farms.
 
I still haven't finished my homework from last term. It looks like I'm not going to have any time off at all this break.

Maybe I spend too much time on message boards and too little doing my work.

Disturbing thought.
