IMREN IMR 32650 3.7v 5000mAh Li-Mn Batteries, opinions?

I've done some googling and poking around for information on the IMREN IMR 32650 3.7v 5000mAh Li-Mn and not coming up with much. Anyone know if these charge up to 4.2 VDC and whether I can use a regular Li-ion charger for them?

Would like to know your opinion of these "safe chemistry" Li-MN batteries.

i'm not really sure about your size but i have use 18650 Li-Mn and charge them using inteli-charger I4 and it fully charge just fine.

I have 2 sizes of Li-Mn batteries, but not 32650. Yes they charge to 4.2V and you use a regular Li-Ion charger. Those may take awhile to charge unless you have a charger that can charge faster. I have an Efest LUC V4 charger with adjustable charging output, but it only holds up to a 26650, I don't remember ever seeing a charger that even fits 32650, but you should be able to use wires and magnets to connect them to a charger. If you find a charger that fits a 32650 please let us know, although I doubt I will use anything larger than 26650, my next laser will use 26650.

The Li-Mn batteries are rated for higher current than Li-Ion.

Great, I was thinking of using them for a knife edged pointer, but three stacks of four each in parallel for 12.6 VDC (peak voltage) at 20 amp hours.
 
Well i only will use top brand cell Panasonics,AW,LG. I have bought Chinese cells now there all bundled up and waiting for the recycle bin. I figure why use cheaper cell in a build that you spend so much time and money on only to have something go terribly wrong or even injure yourself or someone. Just my opinion i rather have 2 good cells than 6 crappy cells any day.. Have fun be safe :-))
 
No - IMREN are quality cells.

[Edit] Check out what the vape/e-cig crowd uses for high discharge cells to get a feel for what you can trust. The consensus right now seems to be that IMREN perform well in high drain applications. That being said, you will also see that they aren't the top performing high current cells either.

Thanks, they sound good for my project but I'm still looking for a battery charger for these beasts.

I Core is a good charger great price, i have two i I 4 D chargers try them you won't be disappointed ..
 
Googled I Core, couldn't find it. Looking for a four slot 32650 Li-Mn/Li-ion charger with a display showing voltage and current as well as capacity of the battery.

I looked for one of those too before I bought my 3rd charger because I wanted to be sure that time that a bought a charger that can charge any size I may use in the future, but I couldn't find one.

Closest i can find is this ThruNite model on ebay for the 32650 but only two slot, guess i can just buy two at $35 each.

I saw that but the all the bad news on their batteries I've seen, I dismissed it with their name on it. Perhaps their chargers are better than their batteries :p

Edit: One of the Amazon.com buyer reports says the third slot wouldn't work for him when two batteries were in it. I'm guessing the thing won't let the third slot function when two 32650's are in it, but will allow three for other smaller batteries. That's one solution to being unable to produce enough current for three of these big daddies together, just shut the third slot down. Either that or he has a defective unit.

Yes that doesn't surprise me, my Efest charger can charge 4 batteries but only the center 2 take 26650.

I don't completely agree about the quality of their batteries, Ultrafire I can verify are not very good, they have been known to put a smaller cell in some of their batteries and there has been some testing that showed them to be less than 1/3rd of the stated capacity in mAh. I have 2 pair of Trustfire that seem to perform ok but I can't properly test them to verify what the true mAh is. Some people think that anything with fire in the name is garbage, I don't think that's true, but I do think they aren't nearly as good as some other brands, you get what you pay for. I have never tried the Tangsfire or Kss Fire or any others with fire in the name, there was also one called Uranusfire but I think they were discontinued, see the 3rd post here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f57/post-your-chinglish-fails-here-88150-2.html many Chinese are into astrology and Uranus represents the element fire, I am sure it sounds good in Chinese but it translates poorly to English. :crackup:

Yep, it's the posts not to buy batteries with the word fire in them which scared me away, the prices are so cheap for them that also caused me to believe they are junk when i have never tried them myself.
