I'm looking to buy a decent red laser.

You can make or buy a 200-300mW red laser for less than $50, but if you want more power than that it will costs hundreds of dollars.

I highly recommend Rayfoss lasers. I only have a Blu-Ray from them, but for the price, they're AMAZING. Nice solid flashlight hosts with focusable heads. Consistent output.

I recommend o-like as well as rayfoss. Both companies have good lasers. I got my o-like's a lot faster (shipping) than my rayfoss if you want it in a hurry. Here is a red that can focus for burning. Make sure you use SAFETY GLASSES for burning!
