ILDA 10k scanner - What can it really do?

I am making mine a GV (Green Violet) Projector. Also waiting on my 803t diode as i killed the last one. I have the DrLava driver ready built and the azxis module mounted through a PC heatsick waiting for it to arrive :)

I cant wait to see the mix of Green and Violet. Its going to be very interesting.

Sunny old glasgow, why ?[/quote]

tell me the size you want and i can get an 6mm thick alum board cut and posted to you

O RLY ??

Thats great, I don't need it quite yet, I hope to have a green scanner running before february of next year, so I'll PM you when I need it.

btw andy, do you have an LPM ? I'm building a BR n a few weeks time and I have no LPM, and I thought since your in the UK I could send it to you ? If you don't mind that is.

Ok thanks, it won't be for another 3-4 Weeks, If your too busy it doesn't matter though .

i bought the same box as you and im just wondering what shall i use as a output window.

i dont want smoke residue going on my mirrors again!!

UV filters for cameras are said to work, some guys at Photonlexicon recommends it. Try it before you mount it if you are going to use a bluray since 405 is pretty close to UV.

where do you get lasers with analogue.Do you need analogue for a scanner.

just about any place that sells lab stype lasers will have some that support analog modulation. Places like lasershowparts.com, etc. But you don't need analog modulation for a scanner, just TTL would be fine, but this will limit the amount of colors your projector can display.

Does anyone know if you can 'PWM' a dpss laser? Since you are able to modulate LDs up to very high frequencies, it would be useful if you could add analouge modulation to your laser by writing a PWM program for a strong microcontroller? I bet someone already tried this..

yes you could theoretically PWM operate a laser with TTL modulation, but this wouldn't work in a scanner as the line would become dotted and at full power of the laser.

if it was still - the PWM idea would work, just not for use in a scanner

Yes, Analogue means you can adjust the power of the laser, TTL is just on and off. For single colour TTL is fine, infact probably better than Analogue ....

Depending on the power of the scanner ( If it's single colour ) then you might want analogue so you can turn it down a notch for using it in smaller rooms/venues. But TTL is generally fine .
