I'm still surprised at how good evidence recovery is. But whenever I use my laser, usually a 5mw green around people to point at stars, if somebody tells me to stop, it's back to finger pointing.

Very stupid on both people's part. This is why I'm a huge fan of blu-ray and red lasers. They're much less annoying due to them looking dimmer yet you can still light a match or something if you want to. Just don't let any idiots near blu-rays or they'll be blind in 2 seconds since it looks like a 2 mw green.

I'm 99.99% sure that the taxi driver told the Laser jockey to stop
what he was doing before it escalated into what happened... IMO

Laser pointer was the method, but I'm guessing this isn't the first time this guy pissed someone off. This time the someone was a psycho.

Hard to condemn the laser user too much when it was probably bought by someone ignorant to the dangers and sold to him in Greece on holiday!

Yes, it was stupid, yes, it would have annoyed me too but stabbing the guy? Bit OTT if you ask me. Hardly a balanced response.

It isn't clear if it was the guy who died that was the user anyway.

The term "laser torch" kinda confused me, but i'm also positve that it was just a regular pen laser.

^ Protests over the fact Greece is bankrupt, again, and requires yet another bail out from the European Monetary Fund, again. I wish I had that many lasers when I'm bankrupt... !

@Morgan - I'm willing to bet they were handed out by someone with deep pockets.

Demonstrations with just plaques just aren't as news worthy these days. I'm glad it was just laser pointers though. When soviet union fell, they were handing out AK's.

^ Not so sure on that one. Low power pointers, (even lower than they're supposed to be too I suspect! :D ), are available from street vendors in Greece. It's a common, cheap toy that's picked up by UK tourists, as well as many others. No need for a, "Mister Big", to distribute them.

Chime in any time, any of our Greek brethren here. (Incidentally, I read my message above about Greece being bankrupt and it sounded/read a little off. No offense was meant to Greece, so I hope none was taken. Thanks)
