"I NEED HELP" !!!BEGINNER!!! First laser Build Iam using a 405nm PHR-803T

Re: "I NEED HELP" !!!BEGINNER!!! First laser Build Iam using a 405nm GGW-H20L 6x Blu

If I was mad or disliked you for something you did, I'd be damned if I gave you any business through my web site. What's so hard to see the rationality in that?

Did someone try to re-write (or just delete) history?

Peace,
dave

I honestly would first ask Mohrenberg. he's selling great stuff at so damn good prices lately ;)

Mo's out of the business now :(

Peace,
dave

Re: "I NEED HELP" !!!BEGINNER!!! First laser Build Iam using a 405nm GGW-H20L 6x Blu

hey everyone ive been doing alot of reading and i have decide to change this build into either an 8x or a 12x haven decide yet but leaning toward a 12x the pioneer...i plain on making it at these specs: let me know what you Guys think????,

SureFire c3 host
1 -3.6v Battery
BDR-205BKS 12x
340mA to 360mA/dont know yet how much mW that will put out
Heatsink
405-G-1 "jayrob"
Micro Flexdrive v5

Since this is my first build jayrob will be doing most of the work so i dont f*** anything up..since it is very expencive diode..and i will be able to learn from that and on my next build be able to do it on my own.....

But just want to see what you guys think of those specs do they sound good ???

Also is there a way to change or delete this tread to start a new one ,since i am no longer building a 6x laser.. i dont want to be mis leading....thanks everyone for the help and i will keep reading to learn more...

thanks,
Angelos G............!

First of all, you'll need a heatsink. Secondly, I wouldn't start into the hobby with a class IV laser and even less I'd try to build it myself. Jayrob, mohrenberg or IgorT will build it for you for a small fee ;)

I would make a host/heatsink combo. It would be my style heatsink, using the host pill for your driver mount just like my Pocket Mini...

If you want the other heatsink design that replaces the pill, and has a cavity for mounting your driver, that is a Dark Horse or LikeitBright design. (not sure which one designed it)

Anyway, if you got it from me, I have a 'Hot' option that I could offer. Meaning that the driver would be installed. But you would still have to get your own diode. I don't do complete builds for sale...

That said, I don't recommend starting with such an expensive diode. Because you will most likely kill a couple of diodes in the learning process.

You should start with PHR diodes. They are very inexpensive to replace...

Re: "I NEED HELP" !!!BEGINNER!!! First laser Build Iam using a 405nm GGW-H20L 6x Blu

Yep. I would get the all except the diode. Buy a phr diode and solder and desolder it until you kill it. If you do it right a reasonable amount of timesm you might consider swaping to a 12x.

Re: "I NEED HELP" !!!BEGINNER!!! First laser Build Iam using a 405nm GGW-H20L 6x Blu

thanks for the advice what iam going to do is iam going to go with the 12x buils but what iam also going to do in the mean time is buy the cheapest blu ray kit i can get my hands on and practice on that because iwill be getting the host and the set up not the 12x diode this week from jayrob, but i will not be getting the 12x diode intill 2 weeks from this friday so with that said

i will buy some cheap set up just to practice and iam sure in 3 week when i get paid again to get the 12x i will be ready hows that sound guyss???

well the 12x one iam going to leave it up to him it will have a heatsink.custom...

iam going to do what you said and practice solder a diode on and off a flexdrive because what i plain to do is just to get a cheap diode blu ray and a flexdrive v5 and just solder it on and off intill i get to the point were iam confident to solder the 12x on to the build

Re: "I NEED HELP" !!!BEGINNER!!! First laser Build Iam using a 405nm GGW-H20L 6x Blu

Hey I need to clarify something...

You keep saying I will be building your laser but I will not...

I do not build complete lasers. I sell host/heatsink kits.

You must buy your own laser diode and build it into a laser.

I want to clarify this to avoid confusion...

when i say do the 12x build i mean it in a way that ,the kit iwill be done buy you and me buying the diode and putting it in myself

me saying "12x build" it just means the name of what is being build not that you are bullding the hole kit with diode and all...... i will stop sayinging it so no more confusing you.....sorry

Lol... you have not confused me!

I want to avoid confusion for others...

Just to also warn you about eye protection if you have not considered this also...

Even if you are doing a lot of burning, it can harm your eyes trying to concentrate on the dot without the proper eye protection...

yea i understand that what i ment i dint want other to be confused "dont know why i dint say that "haha

defently eye protection when the time come (3 weeks from now i will look into it as far as glasses go.)

I'd order the goggles right now. They are 7$ on focalprice but they take 15 days to come. I wouldn't want to wait 15 days more once you get your laser to start playing with it ;)
