I need a new star pointer *Bought it* Feel free to delete

Re: I need a new star pointer (445nm-520nm Class 3B <$86)

Buy my pen!! :D it's 127 shipped :)

Re: I need a new star pointer (445nm-520nm Class 3B <$86)

I'm actually looking this moment. It's not like I don't have many things that would fit the bill, it's more like what I would be willing to part with. Have to see what I actually have that is a side button too.

Thanks for looking. :D If you (or any other custom-building members) don't have anything to offer, I'm willing to fund a project if you can fit the budget. I'm starting to think if I go DIY myself, I might not have it done in a reasonable amount of time due to my recently hectic schedule. I'd be more than happy to have a DIY laser from one of the awesome forum members such as yourself.

Not that I wouldn't love to buy your pen, but I'm really looking for direct-diode 510-525nm if I go green due to temperature issues with DPSS 532nm for my application.

Have you thought of ordering the 50mw 515nm from Sanwu laser shop? It's something like $100. Idk if you'll find a direct diode green cheaper than that, and 445's will be a bit more powerful than what you want. Usually >500mw.

Well, it's not that easy to come up with a side button unit. Only thing I have is a class 4 931mW A140 blitz buck leadlight pen that does not have the second hole for an indicator LED. I'm pretty sure I didn't build it but I could be wrong about that. The sticker I have on the side says it was set for 1.4A. There is a bit of wide splash but it's not close in. It has a 3 element lens which will drop the output down from that 931mW but it will still be a class 4. Ill have to measure it too for the 3 element output. Chrome host. Would have to take a few pics of it so you can see what it really looks like if you are interested. That would have to be tomorrow though at this point. Don't need $80 for it either.

I hadn't seen that one, but I think I still like laserbtb's a bit more. I'd have to see how much the shipping will cost though.

I'm interested. I was kicking myself for missing Alex2893's pens. If you do take photos, I'd like to see a beam shot. Do you think it'd hurt night vision at that power level?

Re: I need a new star pointer (445nm-520nm Class 3B <$86)

I had to go to bed and it's now too light outside to check. I'll have to see how it looks tonight. I'll take a 3 element measurement and some pics of the unit and some beam shots. I could push the module assembly out and adjust the output lower but I really hate to do that as there is always a risk of something bad happening. It woks absolutely fine and my guess is it would be really great for what you want it for. I rarely point a laser outside because I'm within 5 or less miles from a major airport even though the planes don't fly that close to our house. Could also just send it to you so you can decide for yourself.

Update bump. Got a good offer, but I'm still open to more if they fit my criteria.

Last chance guys! I'll consider any offers until I go to sleep tonight. Let me know soon.

Re: I need a new star pointer *last day to offer!*

I have something that would basically be perfect for your application. It's damn near new though, so you'd need to pay market value.

I have a new sanwu 50mw 515nm challenger series that I've put maybe 10 minutes of use on. It takes 14500 Li-Ion batters and has a stated duty cycle of 90 seconds. Considering the power level it could probably be ran for several minutes though.

Price would be $125 shipped. Covers the $100+$15 shipping I bought it for and my own shipping costs. Roughly on par with what you'd buy it from sanwu for. The benefit is you'd get it within a week and I can confirm it works properly.

Thanks for the offer Razako. I'm really looking for the side button for extra safety and a bit lower price though, so I'll pass. I'd love to buy it though. I might order one from Sanwu sometime soon. I really appreciate your willingness to help me out on this though. :)

With the offer I've got, I'll have something to use in the mean time and money left over to order what I need to build one to my liking.

No problem. I'm not really desperate to sell it. Just figured I'd put the offer out there in case it would suit your needs.

Re: I need a new star pointer (445nm-520nm 3B)

What is your price range and how important is duty cycle? You interested in this little 500-600mw 445 build at all? Asking $75 shipped or $85 with the AW battery.

Go to his link or PM him as I don't expect him to be checking a thread that's been labeled like this.
