I just want to tweak it so it's just a bit more powerful if I can. but i'm not sure how to open it without destroying it. I have two of these and I don't mind scratches or marks on them. just not sure how to get in to it. I've tried getting into this one but with my lack of knowledge can't work it out, seems the button is keeping it in there? you can see the marks from where I tried

if you do not have the experience to do it I would stop! Read up a bit more before doing it and possibly ruining your laser that is what I would do

The only way I can get experience is by trying ;). I couldn't find anything else about this type. I don't care about them really, super cheap I'm not too bothered

It's doubtful you will be able to increase the output on those. If you really want to open it up use a dremel with metal cutting disc or a small haksaw.

Pull. :) they are just glued in, heating the body up may help release the glue as well.

you could try something like this :

You get it out yet? Any status updates? My
idea was to insert a rod into the back and
drive out the module with a hammer or
something.

Yeah I got it out in the end, exactly like you said by putting a rod in the back. Although I couldn't see a way to tweak it...might just be being stupid. But anyway yeah I got it out

If you want to get into messing with pens take a look at my sig tutorials (green links) as there's things you can do with them to make them much more interesting.
I haven't seen a pen that had an adjustable pot in it since I don't know when UNLESS you paid a lot more for it and it said it was rated above 5mW and even then it might not have the pot. It's way more economical to purchase decent cheapos to begin with and make them focus-able OR buy the 3 or 5 volt 532nm modules from Fasttech which are much stronger with less IR. Don't be concerned with the one saying it's 5 volt as it can run on as low a voltage as the 3 volt ones and the 5 volt ones give you more options as far as batteries you can use. I believe they just came back in stock again.
You just don't need big power or to spend a fortune for some fun. Unless you are outside the US buy the 3 color packs that all look the same in the pics from seller "overfeel" out of NYC on Ebay. There's a couple other sellers in California that sell the better ones also but I have to look them up if you need the names. The only issue I have with them is sometimes they switch to a different supplier and you don't get the ones in my tutorial.
If there's one thing I can claim to know about, it's pens and 532nm Fasttech modules. I've received pens that the modules have fallen out of and others that you would need a dremel to remove it. They can be a major pain to take apart if you just want the pen part as a host. Will say that it seems like less glue is being used now to hold everything in place.

The California ones are:
-21buyinhere 3 Color Red Green Blue Purple Laser Pointer Pen 5mW High Power US Stock | eBay
OR
6in1 Green Red Blue Violet 5mW Laser Pointer Pen with 5 Star Caps High Power | eBay
-milliongadgets
but I've always gotten the correct ones from "overfeel" which I am now seeing has only a few items for sale and they don't include these units.
