How to extract diode and Optics from 4X GBW-H10N

Re: How to extract diode and Optics from 6x GGW-H2

Now all of the optics are out safely. Its time to move onto the diodes. In this particular sled there are 3 diodes.

#1 IR diode #2 Centre Red long can diode #3 6XBR diode

Remove the 2 screw thats holding the copper piece onto the diode. Both side.

Re: How to extract diode and Optics from 6x GGW-H2

the diode here in this picture is the BR diode.

I mraked out the piece that sticks out from the heatsink around the diode. you can use that little piece and the outter piece of the sled and grab a pliers and push it out from the tab. its also glued in ::) so it should be out with no hassel

Re: How to extract diode and Optics from 6x GGW-H2

Now with the other 2 diodes its pretty straight forward. just use a plier and twist it out from the glue thats holding it. The BR diode is abit harder to get out cause theres nothing to hold onto it from. but i just push it out from the front side, around the heatsink edge. and it comes out easily. But you must take off most of the glue that holding it into place from behind.

Here is a pitcure of the total sled being scrape clean of all its diode and optics.

Nicely done. I'm much more destructive when I disassemble a sled. [smiley=evil.gif]

Peace,

And all the optics taken from just the 1 sled.

lol Dave, i find all sleds harvesting are the same. china likes using glue!!!! which makes it easy to remove things, if they had use soldering, that would be totally different story all together ;D ;D

I end up with the same optics and diodes. I just break the sled if it makes it easier for me to get at something. A well placed cut with cut or two with a small set of nippers. gives pretty quick and easy access to some of the components. I'm just lazy ;)

Once again -- nicely done. Your patience, the persistence to complete this for us, and your ability to show the detail is admirable.

Thank you

+1

Peace,

Re: How to extract diode and Optics from 6x GGW-H2

Thats okay. just hope it helps. I move onto the phr-803t 2morrow ;)

People have shown how to remove the diodes, but not how to take the whole thing apart ;)

Re: How to extract diode and Optics from 6x GGW-H2

you should finish this by adding how to get the diodes out of the heat sinks! good write up though!

Re: How to extract diode and Optics from 6x GGW-H2

Really nice write up with great pictures and notes!

You should show this link to robjdixion so he can put it in his compiled list of tutorials which is stickied in this tutorials and help section:
http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1225049614/0

One thing you should probably do in order to avoid confusion, is perhaps edit the first post to say GBW-H10N. This is the 4X sled that Amk is getting. (he is not getting the GGW-H20L) which is the way more expensive 6X sled...

nice tutorial! :) do u have link for this sled :)

Re: How to extract diode and Optics from 6x GGW-H2

I want these optics! Sell them to me! [smiley=cry.gif]

Sure i will let him know, thank JayRob.

And im glad everyone finds it easy to read and follow.

Josh i havent added that bit cause i havent done it yet ;D ;D but i'll do that soon though. If you have any suggestion or pictures your welcomed to post it up.

Simplysped there you go, Contact Daguin and he send you some, but knowing him he'll prob only charge you for shipping ;)

And if you want these sleds you can buy them by joining AMKDEATH GB on the GB thread. He'll add you to the list and you just pay when he tells you too and he'll order it with everyone else and have it shipped out to you.
