Any of you whippersnappers see any bad judgement in the use of high powered lasers?

I could see that in a lot of my age group...

I'm 20 now, but many of the people around my age would want to point a laser at everything and everyone, day and night, no matter the power. Wouldn't be until they damaged someone's vision, either temporarily or permanently, that the laser would be taken away. But then they'd just buy another one...

Sounds like drugs to me.

@blu-ray you should get into tesla coils, they are the shit.. All the cool kids are building tesla coils nowadays!

After that try out these nifty Plasma speakers!

Seriously, if I had some time I would build some of my very own ozone producing speakers that would zap the shit out of me if I accidently touch them. (Just kidding, minimal ozone and just a burn) Sorry to derail the thread but I wish I got into electronics when I was your age.
How about you make a laser harp and output the sound to the tesla coil or plasma speaker

I'm 18, and I actually had to take my laser away from my friend the other day. He was reflecting it precariously close to people's eyes, and just being reckless. It's >200mW and I had to actually explain why that's so much more epic than a pointer, and that it can BLIND you. :tsk:

He's much more responsible now. Everyone, please...
TEACH YOUR FRIENDS TO EXERCISE LASER SAFETY!
It's more than using both hands. :na:

I'm turning 20 soon and was surprised at the number of 14-22 year olds lurking these forums. Good to see some may I say "oldies" keeping up with the new generation in terms of technological advancements.

Well hey, don't act so surprised... I mean after all, their generation is the one that pioneered laser technology in the first place ;)

Thanks, all of you older guys.

38.
I am surprised at the number of kids here.
Don't you run into practical problems with things like paypal, and/or credit card for net shopping?

Yeah I thought some of them were older! Makes me feel old!:D

No I don't have very many problems with credit cards or paypal, I had somebody use my social security number and paypal caught them, I've had good luck paypal.

Have you had problems with them?

31-40. I'm old enough to know better but young enough to do it anyways.

My girlfriend asked me if I am ever going to grow up, I said; no I am an old kid!
