How many of you would be interested (or how good do you think it would be for me) if I widened my range of sales from 5mW to include different lasers?

I would love that. I heard about your 5mw ones a few weeks back and was looking to see if you sold any more powerful ones, and was very disappointed when i discovered you didn't. Also the Blu-Ray would be a nice addition.

Well PM me if you want I've been selling some more powerful ones lately (just the 50mW).

There is also the option for 100/150/200mW waterproof greenies or a 200mW pen. I probably won't include those in regular sales but if anyone wants one I can get ahold of it pretty cheap.

The blu-rays are only 5mW and 50mW but I expect they are similarly overspec.
 
If you have any, I would be interested in 50-100mW li-ion (non-pen) greens in the near future perhaps.
 
If I were you, I would send one of these proposed modules to a trusted member with an LPM, and experience with DPSS lasers. Let them give a review on the unit, and the resulting comments left in the review thread would give the best indicator as to if these are modules that you would want to sell or not. Just don't send one to me, I don't have an LPM, and am not experienced with greenies enough.
 
Im sure there would be alot of interested ppl especially noobs. And those china blu-rays are sooooo overspec.... Bottom line, you'd do some gooood business IMO, but ebay wont let you sell those through them, not listed above 5mW anyway.....
And a seller with an LPM in the USA selling 50+mW greenies that are spec tested.... you will do great IMO! :D

In order to sell a lot here you will have to test everyone of them before you sell it.
I've seen 3 of the exact same laser,(50mW 532nm) ordered at the same time, vary in power from 25-70mW. Just because you test one and it measures up to spec, does not mean the next one will come close. Quality control is so bad on these cheap Chinese lasers.

mW output is only one of the indicators of a good DPSS laser. You also have to take into account, divergence, stability, mode hopping, beam profile, and duty cycle vs. lifespan.
Only after all of these parameters are checked, can you be assured of buying a good laser.
Of course if you buy 500 in one lot, and the first 50 all measure close to the same, in all parameters, it's a pretty good bet the rest will be close.

Bottom line; you'll need to do a lot of testing (and have quite a few testimonials) before we will accept your products as good quality.

Oh for all of the 50+mW lasers I test them individually before even giving a final price on it! I recently got an order for 4 50mW greenies and they tested at (something like) 50mW 55mW 60mW and 68mW on half-assed AAA batteries.

Not to worry I'll test them all :) and I'm sure more questions will be answered once people do some reviews on them.
 
Definitely interested in a 100mW waterproof green. Any pictures of the host?

I have never seen a 200mW laser than runs on AA or AAA batteries, to be close to spec.(the batteries can not provide enough power to run that output of laser.) Most sold as 200mW, running off of these batteries, will output around 80mW +/-
You can try one or two, just to make sure, but you will be better off sticking to <100mW. IMHO

That's what I expected... And probably why they are so cheap :P I think, however, that they'd be higher than 80mW if the 50mW ones I got were upwards of 70mW... I'll eventually just buy like a 200mW pen and test it out.. but not yet :P

The focusable lasers I expect to be at least at-spec (they aren't pen style and run on li-ion [CR123A batteries I do believe which are included with the purchase]).
Once I generate enough cash I'll be able to just get a few for myself and see how they run!
 
Batts are batts are batts.... AA's and AAA's and primary OTC CR123s(3v) are all relative, AAA's are 1.5v so two of them would be 3v the same as a nonrechargeable CR123(3v) the only differance is that the AAA's hold less charge and there for run out of power alot quicker, just because a laser runs off AAA's doesnt always mean is underspec or 'incapable' of reacing higher powers. My viper takes two AAA's and peaks towards the 200mW range on a good day. Now im aware of the quality differance between CNI and cheap china pens, but still the batts a laser uses are not any indicator of the power output, only the length of time before you need new batts, and with 200mW on two AAA's you will need to replace them very often.
The best way IMO to judge supposed output w/o buying the laser and testing it yourself is to look at the price, if a 200mW rated pen laser is less than $200 its most likely underspec, but even that isnt always accurate, with those cheap china mass produced lasers its basically a crap shoot, anything can happen on any day for any reason, ive heard of 5mW egay pens pushing 100mWs!!!:D
