How does a animation/effect get into the sky?






I once saw a laser show, long time ago, where they used a curtain of falling water
to achieve an effect like this.

But since in these videos, it appears to happen in the guy's living room, plus the image
is very sharp and not blurred at all, I think the "technology" here is just a wall of glass, a window!
Or maybe a very thin, silky like curtain ;)
 
Uhm , i don't know if it's the same thing, but i've seen something similar once ..... was obtained with a large sheet of very fine nylon net, suspended over a musical band, and the laser projector was placed rear it, so the images was looking "suspended in the air" over the band (the nylon net was thin like women socks and colored as the background, so virtually invisible if not illuminated directly)

Another time, the show was projected on a wall of nebulized water (was an open space in a fun park in summer, this way)

I suppose there are some other systems, but think that those are the easiest ones ;)
 
Yes, they use scrims, usually mosquito netting or something similar. They are almost invisible in the dark.

 
Look at the movements inside the "halo" that act as screen ..... it appears as a wall of nebulized water, to me (and in open places like that one, it's the more easy way, with no wind)
 
I will be doing a similar effect through a scrim on new years. The scrim is being prepared to go up as we speak. Looking forward to having some fun with my projector :)

I have about a dozen shows from different sources (including some of my own) set up and ready to go.

I know what It is.
I actually used it for projection.
Here's the magic:
it's glass yes, but the glass is made out of tiny lenses.
these trap in alot of light and therefor this is possible.
from very up close and with a good camera your able to see.
but at around 1.5 meters you won't be able to see it that easy anymore.

even though in this video I actually didn't use that glass, it's quite similar.

Uh, is the singer of the second link just a synthetized PC voice ? ..... otherwise it's someone with at least a pair of spare vocal and pulmons sets :p :D

Good scenical effect, anyway ..... the only bad things with these projections is that you have to be in front of the panel, for see it (i mean, necessarily in a zone where the panel and the projector interacts with a decent angle), anyway for a concert setup is still a good effect :D

Yes it is *well one of them*
I have the synthesized voice and the program right here.

Which i also Use.
and yes it's 2D but looks 3D.

The engine they were using is the latest street fighter engine, with Motion capture.

I have a very similar model to the one seen on the video too
