Hi All,

Just got a Green laser into and ran into a little problem. I dont know witch way the battery goes in.:yabbem:

The laser has 2 springs one at the tail end and one inside the body. Do any of you know how i can test or figure out witch way to insert the battery in.?

I know green laser are usually case positive but the 2 springs are throwing me off.

Also another thing that is throwing me off is:

This is the laser i ordered it shows the battery positive going toward the head.
Focalprice.com offers Portable 200mW Green Laser Pointer (Silver) ,discount Portable 200mW Green Laser Pointer (Silver),Portable 200mW Green Laser Pointer (Silver) products, low price Portable 200mW Green Laser Pointer (Silver),cheap Portable 200mW Gr

But in there "100mW" Version it shows the positive going to the tail cap.

Any Help would be much appreciated.

Hope that it has a diode to protect from reverse polarity then try it out either way!
Seriously though, that IS confusing. Maybe you should contact Focal about it...

My gut tells me the big spring is for negative and the small spring for positive,
but I assume no responsibility should it fry.

Lucky i dint listen to your gut and fallowed my own that green laser are usual case positive. But thanks anyway.:)

So iam all set guys.:)

But i would still like to know if there is a way to test it if it can be done.?

Don't pay any attention to the springs or there size it has nothing to do with polarity !
Green lasers are made using a IR laser diode and as such they are ALL case positive :tinfoil:
sometimes the chinese don't pay attention to there advertizing so don't go by that either !

Peace All...

What he said.
Just as all of our red diodes are case negative, the IR diodes are case positive.

I have one of DNJY's 532 key chains that's a case negative. It looks like a case positive because the spring is on the inside like the newwish pens but it only works when the neg terminal is connected with the case.
