Looks like the boys at customs are going to have a new toy to play with ;)

I'm not worried, I mean they're looking for that:

Ship the head separately from everything else, cover up all the labels and call it a heavy duty flashlight. It'll be fine :)

Customs guy: Hmmm this doesn't look like a real microphone... I bet there are illegal drugs hidden down this hole. Perhaps it will open if I press this button... ARGH MY EYES!!

Ok ok I saw the laser today. It sure is a beautiful one. I didn't really test the laser as thoroughly as I wanted (I kinda freaked out once it was in my hands, man that thing is huuuge!). So here we go.
The actual condition of the laser is perfect. There are no noticeable scratches, scuffs, etc, on the casing. I popped in the batteries after testing them to be 1.5V, and as expected the laser is a monster. As I pressed the button the internal fan immediately turned on, and after 5 seconds the glorious stream of photons was emitted. I shined it on the dark carpet and the beam was clearly visible indoors. I checked the diameter of the beam at 4" from the aperture, which seemed to be around 1.5-2mm. From what I remember the beam was a clean TEM00 dot but I did not specifically check for this. Did I mention it was bright?
After witnessing all of this, I decided to buy it. It was a deal I just couldn't pass on.
just kidding it's all yours

Great, sounds perfect. Thanks for your services.

Okay, so casinopawn, I'm happy to pay for it now. A PayPal transfer suits me best, hopefully that works for you as well. You'll be shipping it to an American address, so remember to factor in the shipping costs. How about you email me at: jasontwatts @ gmail.com and we can work out the rest there :)

*bump*

Uh, so where did casinopawn go? Was the laser sold already or something? This is why people who don't frequent the forums need to provide email addresses, a phone number is useless to me...

I am also very cautious when spending this kind of money, but this may be a "you snooze, you lose" situation.

I latched onto this a few hours after being posted, and it was still available at that point. No, I think it's more a case of "being on the other side of the world", lol.

It's not all bad, now I don't have to worry about getting it through customs :)

Jimmy, can you find out what happened to this unit? Thanks :)

Have you tried replying to the Craigslist ad? If they don't reply to that, I'd give them a call, but I can't do that for you, maybe someone else will (I'm not a verbal person and I am not good with the phone.) If all else fails I guess you could send me the money, I'll buy it in the shop and send it to your middleman.

Wow OK I had no idea it was like this in the US :)... in general if you buy something here in Denmark and have no reason to believe it does not belong to the person you are buying it from, they can't take it away from you ...

I don't know what the position in Europe, but in common law jurisdictions (e.g. U.K ,U.S., Canada etc) as a general rule a purchaser even in good faith does not get title to stolen goods.

Hey guys, for future reference you should know that Laserglow is happy to validate serial numbers for you. We can even retest the laser for a small fee, so you will know that it was tested properly on Laserglow's lab equipment and you'll get an output power certificate to prove that it's legit. The normal lab fee for this service is $50 which isn't bad to protect/validate an investment of several hundred.
