I need to identify this module (I think is about 20mw) and if I can mod it.
I can't undertstand is the silver part is a pot or not

Yes, the silver part called the "pot" is what you would turn to make the laser more powerful.

Be aware, modding a green laser will reduce it's lifetime significantly and could be risky.

What is in your opinion the safer compromise in turning the pot and how much burning capability I will gain?

I can't tell exactly how much you will gain, only way to measure that would be with an LPM. In my opinion you shouldn't attempt to "mod" it as you will most likely get only a couple of minutes of burning power before the laser dies.

Make sure to wear laser glasses when you turn the pot, it may become brighter than you expect and damage your eyes if you don't have glasses.

Yeah. Don't turn the pots on those cheap modules. More often than not they die instead of increasing in power.

If you want to burn stuff I recommend a lighter.

Ok, I am warned about working on the pot. From the shape of the nozzle can you see if it may be focusable? Focusing it a bit I think could be a safe way to improve a little the burning capabilities

It dosen't seem to be focusable. Another way to improve burning capabilities is using a magnifying glass, give it a try :)

Well I doubt you will be able to burn with it...I'd say instead of destroying it invest some time&money in reading about laser safety and buying a new laser with goggles!

Depends on the module. Typically there is a threaded lens inside that can be adjusted, though it is usually glued down.

Edit: Took a look at the module you have, the ring with the two holes can be turned to focus the laser.

I can't figure out how to +rep you while on mobile, but you deserve a +1.

I can't believe this forum is now providing advice on pot modding... let alone pot modding of 532s, without any mention of safety, short of concern for premature laser death, with no talk of IR, and with only one person mentioning glasses (a very new member for that matter).

Ya safety is always first priority, people tend to forget that sometimes.

Don't pot mod it, just enjoy the photons and stay safe. If it ain't broke don't fix it, and if you desire more power, take your time and ease on into it. The power is out there, but you won't get said power out of your module.
