HELP ME! 505nm Build request!

I see that DTR has his 505nm diode-driver module using a boost driver. I wonder if those are available yet. If so, it would be a good choice to get all the hardware other than a host you like the shape of. And because it's a low power diode on a boost driver, a single cell will be enough and thus a small build. I look forward to what you find, as I too want a small 505nm in my future.

These diodes seem to be running from 502nm up to 507nm at low current. I don't know yet how much they will shift with higher current. Lets hope you get a low WL one, Alex.

If you like blue, you will love these "480nm" diodes. The are as blue as can be without a trace of violet in any of them. They seem to hold up pretty well with 250 mA to 300 mA, but the real test will come when they are in a build and used for many hours.

Yes these 473 diodes should be awesome, I've purchased 2 already on there way
And hopefully a 3rd high binned also,
Drivers on the other hand, best would be Jordan's Nano boosts at 275ma but he only has a hand full!

Are those drivers adjustable, or do I have to take 275 mA? I'd prefer to adjust mine as I want to push it to 350 mA. I think it will have a nice long life at that current.

No not adjustable either that or 520ma unless you can remove and solder on the wright resistor and swap it with another for your 350ma!

Damn! I'll have to come up with something else. I think the Vf is too high for a buck, so maybe a buck/boost.

Just ordered one!!! Got look through my build box to see if I even have a driver for it!!!

I ordered the buck/boost nano driver from DTR. It is supposed to have only three ranges, but after reading over its ranges of 275 mA, 500 mA and 1.1 amps, I believe I can get 350 mA out of it. That is what I intend to run my 473nm diode at. The one from eBay only goes up to 125 mA and I didn't like the way they described it. Not sure if it is current adjustable or voltage adjustable.

Hope you share your mod. I couldn't hold back and ordered the new diode/driver modules. Going to be a bunch of new build threads coming up. Looking forward to it.

Like I said it's there if we get stuck with no drivers, I'm not sure we're you saw 125ma it should go as high as 500ma!
I already have a few nanos so I won't be using it, It's just a backup!

I saw the 125 mA limitation on that driver. Too low for my purposes.

Dan, I'll be happy to share what I learn about changing the set values on the nano buck/boost driver. My aim is for 350 mA and I believe after I measure the three resistors used to set the current, I'll be able to get it to regulate at that current.

Hi ,
I should be done with my 505 build tonight , Setting the nano to 275ma .. Got up early to machine a sink and knob half asleep.

Rich:)

That's going to be a pretty host with that copper and such a unique diode. Looking forward to some more pictures!

Hi
Here s some color of 505
