Welcome to the LPF, James. How is it you are working as an optical engineer, but are still learning the basics of optics? Is it that you wish to be an optical engineer? Good luck to you.
James, welcome, glad to see you posting a hello here and telling us some about yourself. What kind of optical engineer are you? I mean, type of equipment or what the optics you engineer are used for?
can you believe that there are 10 million US Patents and many are for lasers and related inventions -- can you say 'endless job ops' live where ever you want.
ALSO patents for the first laser has been an ongoing issue for a LONG time.
here is a quote:
'The United States Patent and Trademark Office said Patent 10 million is for “Coherent Ladar Using Intra-Pixel Quadrature Detection.” The patent application lists the inventor as Joseph Marron of Manhattan Beach, California; the technology is owned by Raytheon Co. in Waltham, Massachusetts.
I am still searching for how many patents are laser related..
Kewl that #10,000,000 was for Ladar..
DIDJA know about the patent feud over the first laser patent ??
